in Trick Yourself Into Getting Fit on Carrie and Danielle
The best thing I did for myself was to join a walking group. Having several previous sports injuries I knew running was not my thing, not to mention what certain parts of ones body does as it ages - there are not enough bathrooms out there when running about!! But by joining a walking group initially as support to a close friend, I met several other women from different walks of life who together met twice a week with loads of others and one a week to learn about the benefits of walking together. It may not seem like much but when you begin putting in 5 Km, then 7km and later 10 km (the Sun Run distance) before you know it, you are training to do 1/2 Marathons! What I gained with this amazing group of women was encouragement, support during tough times in my life, a goal that was attainable and a drive to keep at it. This was my time away from work, family and all those other stressors in life. Initially it was very hard to commit the time but soon came a time I looked forward to because it was MY time and I was getting really tight buns in the process. To be referred to as an athlete having achieved 2 1/2 marathons the year I turned 50 was great! And it was easy!

Karryn - you have been born with a creative edge most of us could never dream to have and your willingness to nourish it in your children is so evident. Can't wait for a fairy house for our fairy garden when that time comes. It is so important to nurture the imagination in all of us but especially young children as one shall never be bored if she/he possess an acute imagination and a few things to create with. If John is another resource for new and different ideas - kudos to him! I have not read the book but this makes me want to do so.

in No Sugar Tonight! Or wine, or white bread, or … on Carrie and Danielle
I commend your willpower and tenacity to stick with No Sugar Tonight. Sticking to natural sweetness found in fruit can be extremely satisfying so we need to unite and stop giving in to the men in our lives who are addicted to chocolate and set a better example for the precious girls in our lives as alas, it seems so unfair it is the female gender who ends up with adipose dimples with only a wisp of the decandence when our fellas can consume mass quantities and only have to wipe the smudge from their mouths - so very unfair!! I will try very hard to learn from you example.

I really enjoyed reading this article. Being somewhat computer illiterate (well really I screw things up royally on a regular basis) but my wife, son and son-in-law usually rescue me and put things right again. You have a very humourus way of expressing what happens to many people on a daily basis. Somewhat akin to reading, rather than watching, a scene from a Seinfeld TV program, so keep up the good work and sense of humour.
