Unfortunately I'm not an OOP guy, so learning OOP, Objective C and Cocoa is still a bit of a hurdle. Things seem to just make sense though. I know C well so making the transition to Objective C is not all that difficult. The Cocoa framework is just so clean which makes it easy to work with.

I look forward to your programming experiences with Cocoa as I find my path as well.

Cheers.

Re: The case of NBC vs. Apple - a problem of customer-disassociation?

Being closely related to the customer (or not!) is one thing. Major shifts in technology another.
Companies like NBC face the problem that they were built for a certain purpose and now the underlying business model is dramatically changing. Or: Business is changing faster than the comany thinks it can adopt. So they try to "fight back" and defend their position which results (unfortunately) in a very costumer-unfriendly behaviour.

Re: The use case

That could've been a Tech IT Easy post!

Re: Delays and detours

Gute Besserung! :-)

Re: T-Mobile - can a corporation appear human?

In Germany the "Deutsche Telekom (including T-Mobile)" is a giant of a company but they steadily loose customers because of poor service!

Re: Some lessons about customers from and by HBR

Thank you for your link to my blog, Customers Rock! At the beginning of my term I just didn't have time to open neither my Netvibes nor my blog statistics, but I did the latter today and find the link from your article.

Thank you very much for it, but I would so much love it if it was true... These past weeks have proven that you are a much better and steady blogger than I am, but I hope to catch up some day!

This article is really interesting from an entrepreneurial point of view, because I think that in big companies all this "thinking about customers" is completely integrated to processes (even if sometimes they're not adapted) but it is different for an entrepreneur who believes so much in his idea that sometimes, he thinks he can force the customer in believing in it too. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case.

Re: The eco trend II - measuring the cost of climate change

This is an excellent article, inside and out. I tried to reach you by email, but was unsuccessful. I am the Director of Marketing for The Boppy Company.

Thank you so much for your support of Boppy® products. I recently received the link to this blog entry of June 28, 2008 and was pleased to see such genuine support for our Boppy® Feeding and Infant Support Pillow.

In regard to the Boppy® Newborn Lounger, I need to clarify that your suggested usage of this product is incorrect. The Boppy® Newborn Lounger pillow is sold for use as a newborn support pillow and we specifically warn against allowing an infant to sleep on the pillow. The Boppy® Newborn Lounger pillow can be used for supporting an infant during daily lounge time while under the supervision of an adult.

We hope you find it useful in that way, but it should not be used for sleeping.

Thanks again for all of your support.

Best Regards,
Kimberly Brock
Director of Marketing
The Boppy Company
720.746.3845 (phone)

Re: Being a Working Parent ISN'T a Bad Thing

Great post and great new blog design.

Re: Umbilical Cord Blood Banking

I will be delivering in Dec 08 and this is very interesting. My sister and I were both out of diapers before our first birthdays and used a potty before we could walk. Billy is 16 months old and is well on his way to using a potty full time during the day. It's not hard *IF* you can devote 100% attention. Since I'm hope I have an upper hand. Regardless, I don't think it matters what age they start - each kid is different. And down South, the flours are "softer" (lower protein) than up North. But the nice thing about King Arthur Flour is, our flour is THE SAME all over the country. So if you buy a bag of King Arthur in Coos Bay, Oregon, it'll be the same flour you buy in Montgomery, Alabama, or Portland, Maine. Consistency and quality are what make us more than "run of the mill"! You can however get the vaccine after age 26 if you say work in a profession that puts you at risk or are newly single. It effective for all ages. After 26 insurance simply will not cover the injections.

Re: Buying Baby Shoes

Nice post!! We circumcised both of our sons, and I believe it is a very personal decision, with physical, social, and cultural factors to consider. However, I completely understand why someone would choose not to circumcise their son. The medical research seems to indicate there are potential health benefits, but no real guaranteed ones. There is a great discussion of circumcision at www.opposingviews.com/questions/should-boys-be-... Experts from both sides weigh in and make some valid points on the issue.
