in A Wednesday (2008) on Software Developer's Life Cycle
I loved the movie too. Very impressive, infact dangerously impressive.

You find youself cheering for the common man 'coz he really represents us. Kind of gives you a hope when the government and the bureaucracy fails you.

But film wise - lovely plot, tight screen play, right acting (nothing over the top), correct length and perfect timing

in Alternatives to Cold Medicine on Mommy Vomitpants
A must have now that cold season is upon us is a Nosefrida nasal
aspirator, which was recommended by Dr Sears...his word is gold in my book.... I got one last year and it saved us from many sleepless
nights. Now I have one for every bathroom in the house! None of the
cold medicines worked for us either, so it's not a big loss.

in My Pregnancy and Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) on Mommy Vomitpants
Hi Mommy Vomitpants,

just wanted to let you know that I suffered frpm SPD during my first pregnancy. I was one of the rare cases where I actually had a tear and couldn't walk for several weeks after the birth of my son.

It's been four years and I still have some pain but we decided to have another child. So far the pain has been minimal because I have followed some of the suggestions on how to relieve or avoid the pain.

My ob has advised me that normally the second time around shouldn't be as bad since my hips have separated and can give more than they did the first time and this is proving to be true.

fingers crossed I'll be able to walk after the birth of my second child.

in Breast Milk vs. Formula on Mommy Vomitpants
I agree...although I nursed all 3 of my children, I don't think a mother should be made to feel shamed by not breastfeeding. It is certainly a personal and individual decision. Yes, there are proven health benefits and protections to breastfeeding, but formula is a good second choice. There's a great discussion about this at www.opposingviews.com/questions/will-formula-fe... Experts from both sides debate the issue and make some interesting points. Good read on the subject!

Ameda You are right, however I would definitely not deprive my child of breastfeeding!

in Circumcision - the BIG question on Mommy Vomitpants
A good summary of some of the pros and cons of circumcision. We circumcised both of our sons, and I believe it is a very personal decision, with physical, social, and cultural factors to consider. However, I completely understand why someone would choose not to circumcise their son. The medical research seems to indicate there are potential health benefits, but no real guaranteed ones. There is a great discussion of circumcision at www.opposingviews.com/questions/should-boys-be-... Experts from both sides weigh in and make some valid points on the issue. A great read on the topic!

in Dieting Tips - Portion Control on Mommy Vomitpants
Awesome blog Beverly!
Don't forget that combining "portion control" w/ working out is the best way to go. (which you obviously know from your Curves workouts :-D) I'm going to give my friend your blog's address. Since Willow and Simon are around the same age, I'm sure she'll find it useful.

in Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)- Should YOU be Tested? on Mommy Vomitpants
Excellent posts on HPV and more specifically Gardasil.

Let me make one clarification Gardasil is aimed at women under 26simply b/c they feel that women over 26 have would have alredy been exposed. You can however get the vaccine after age 26 if you say work in a profession that puts you at risk or are newly single. It effective for all ages. After 26 insurance simply will not cover the injections.

Completely agree that babymoons are definitely worth it! They don't have to cost a fortune either..many inns & b&bs are now offering packages for expecting parents. Check out www.babymoonguide.com for some great ideas.

in Recipe Corner - Morning Glory Muffins on Mommy Vomitpants
Hi Mommy: It's true there are all kinds of different flours for different areas of the country. And down South, the flours are "softer" (lower protein) than up North. But the nice thing about King Arthur Flour is, our flour is THE SAME all over the country. So if you buy a bag of King Arthur in Coos Bay, Oregon, it'll be the same flour you buy in Montgomery, Alabama, or Portland, Maine. Consistency and quality are what make us more than "run of the mill"! Thanks for your kind comments - PJ Hamel, King Arthur Flour test baker/blogger

in Potty Training? on Mommy Vomitpants
Ahhh but it's nothing to laugh at my fellow mommy. My sister and I were both out of diapers before our first birthdays and used a potty before we could walk. Billy is 16 months old and is well on his way to using a potty full time during the day. It's not hard *IF* you can devote 100% attention. Since I'm hope I have an upper hand. Regardless, I don't think it matters what age they start - each kid is different. Good read though...thanks :)

in Amazon Store Highlights - The Boppy on Mommy Vomitpants
Dear Beverly,

I'm sorry for the post. I tried to reach you by email, but was unsuccessful. I am the Director of Marketing for The Boppy Company.

Thank you so much for your support of Boppy® products. I recently received the link to this blog entry of June 28, 2008 and was pleased to see such genuine support for our Boppy® Feeding and Infant Support Pillow.

In regard to the Boppy® Newborn Lounger, I need to clarify that your suggested usage of this product is incorrect. The Boppy® Newborn Lounger pillow is sold for use as a newborn support pillow and we specifically warn against allowing an infant to sleep on the pillow. The Boppy® Newborn Lounger pillow can be used for supporting an infant during daily lounge time while under the supervision of an adult.

We hope you find it useful in that way, but it should not be used for sleeping.

Thanks again for all of your support.

Best Regards,
Kimberly Brock

Good luck on your weight loss journey. We are about exactly the same. I have lost approx 10 lbs in approx 4 weeks (8.4 in 3 weeks but my WI is in 2 days so I'm guesstimating lol)

Have you joined any yahoo groups? I am a member of http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Serious-We...
It has really helped me stay on plan and motivated. There are a lot of ppl that have honestly lost over 200 lbs. Shoot if they can do it i know I can make goal. Also they provide a lot of recipes - and support.

Either way - good luck!!
