in Corporate No-smoking Policies Raise Tough Questions on Diggings
If employees are unhappy with a company's policies, they can just quit their jobs. Just like if you are unhappy with the salary, you can just walk off. This might create a new wave where companies follow suit. Then again, implementing such measures don't come cheap. But at the end of the day, those who do quit will be thankful to their employers. To better health!

in quit smoking online on Ubergizmo
Although this whole idea might work because of its novelty, most people will lose interest in time to come and give up eventually. By hiding behind a screen, you can just 'take leave' anytime you want. It's more like a self-denial.

If you are really keen to quit smoking, you should meet up with these professionals. They will help you to keep track of your records. Would anyone be self-disciplined enough to track themselves? If so, they need not even need this service!

in A Website Dedicated to Helping you Make Money Online on USWeb
Blogging is by far one of the easiest way to make money online. However, it gets more & more difficult to get noticed online since hundreds of blogs are started everyday. Most people give up trying after that. But if you choose the right niche and given the right tools, your blog will not go unnoticed. You just need a little more effort than your competitors.

in Tips for Reducing Anxiety, Stress and Depression in Your Life on Social Anxiety Disorder
Thanks for this post. It was quite informative but it would be better if you can include some negative effects of anxiety attacks. This will give people more reasons to deal with panic attacks. This is a major problem for some people, dealing with something deep inside that they cannot see.

in How to kick any habit on Leahey.org | Skepticism and Productivity
hey Andrew,

thanks for this post. I realise that quitting smoking is all about breaking a cycle that you are used to. Making small changes in your life like doing something different each day helps you to break away from daily routines, which includes smoking.

It helps if you can delay the timings between each puff. I woke up one day forgetting to smoke the whole day, and the rest is history.

in Quitting Meth IS Possible on Some Chick's Blog
I'm really impressed with the way you tried to kick the habit. Although I have not tried it before, the consequences are enough to put me off.

Quitting a bad addiction is all about will power. And the realisation that God is around to help you out of the shit. All it takes is the first step. All the best to you!

in The Zenster: The Leo Babauta Interview on Carrie and Danielle
hey Danielle, that was really inspirational. I hope your quit smoking plan is going well. And ya you are right. It takes one effort to bring forth another one. Few people made it big in life because they dare not take the first step. And it is through the baby steps that people start to fly.

Thanks for recommending Zenhabits. All the best!

in Raising the Smoking Age Won’t Curb Teen Smoking on Happily Oblivious
I guess kids by nature are curious and 'rebellious'. The more you don't want them to do something, the more they want to prove that they can (or will). And one year is not gonna make a huge difference. It cant be something like, "hey, I'm underage now. I shall only smoke next year!"

coraliesolange I couldn't agree more. Part of the allure of cigarettes is the mere fact that they're illegal and jumping through a few hoops to get them just makes more fun for kids. Besides, there will always be a parent who leaves their smokes lying around or an older kid willing to buy for them.

in To Motivate, Get Attention on KnowHR Blog
Although this picture looks 'threatening', it doesn't really scare people off. It looked freaky at first, but I thought it looked more creative than serves its purpose. Maybe something more nasty-looking will make smokers think twice.

in Effective Stop Smoking Aids on Social Medical Revolution - Mental Well-being
I dun think nicotine replacement therapy is a good way to stop smoking. It merely serves as a temporary measure to stop smoking. What we need is a long-term education and treatment. Having say that, nicotine replacement products can help relieve those nasty symptoms.

in Would You Like Some Butter With That Roll?!! on Ragamuffin Soul
The problem with most famous weight loss programs is that they are not tailored for everyone. Even the program for specific blood groups (winks) did not produce the desired results for some people.

Talking about artifical sugars (aspartame), my, they are deadly! I think there is a real need to be able to read what we are eating!

Then again, it all boils down to self-discipline. People quit smoking, because they feel there is a need to. Same goes for weight loss.

I do agree that losing weight is all about striking a right balance. But I am not sure if the study was comprehensive enough because it involved only a small group of 19 women.

Oh man, this list is sooo comprehensive. I am gonna add a few to my own list. Btw, I have to agree on #8 on diet sodas. Aspartame is still sooo unsafe, wonder why was it even approved in the first place?

And you sure both pics are yours? If so, that's a real motivator for those looking to lose weight. Good job there! It's all about hard work!

I believe people will do anything just to try something that promises hope. Most of the time, we don't buy the products, we buy the hope. So its kinda funny how we deceive ourselves sometimes.
