Quite amazing really.

However, XP Tablet runs faster and would probably allow you to get the same productivity out of a 1GB machine. It largely depends on your tablet requirements. As i'm someoone that doesn't use handwriting, there aren't many features in Vista that really make much difference to me.

The key thing is, get the 2GB upgrade when you buy an SH6 and then you have the choice of OS.

Steve

Re: New icon on my iPhone

I'm with you there on the iTunes purchasing thought. They rely totally on it and if those developers stroll of to iPhone or MID land, they will end up having to pay a lot more for development.

Having used the M528 and seen some of the dev work going on in and around the Atom ecosystem, Nokia should indeed think carefully about what OS they persue for the N810.

Steve.

Re: What’s with all the give-a-way’s?

This is a load of old bollocks

(does that word work in the u.s.)

Steve

Re: What’s with all the give-a-way’s?

20 comments to go.....

(are multiple comments allowed?!!)

S.

Re: Video Demo: Nokia N95 Original’s Firmware 21.0.001 Built-in Youtube Flash Support

It's hardly playing! Its more like an occasional screen shot of the YouTube video. Or is it just a bad YouTube vid? Good technical advance for S60 though. Put that on a Cortex core and we could be seeing impressive results.

Isn't it funny though how one of the most inefficient codec implementations in use today has become a benchmark. I use an Everun as a mobile web device (I do a LOT of mobile web and therefore its worth me taking a seperate device) but thats nothing compared to the size that we could see in 2008.

Check out this demonstrator:
http://www.umpcportal.com/modules/news/article....

and this size comparison:
http://www.umpcportal.com/gallery/v/var/Image7....

Once someone has written some decent software, decent mobile web will be with us and we won't have to bother about optimised web pages any more.

Steve
UMPCPortal

Re: The Cell Phone Is The New Computer

I heard this a few years ago in Germany too. Its an important point and could be the reason that prices for data are kept high. To reduce demand.

Currently, early adopters are having a nice time surfing on 3G networks but that could change quickly if the number of users rises.

Steve.

Re: The Mobile Web and the ‘mdot’ solution

@simon.

ok, its true that some of these devices still have some issues but they are far removed from the 2" experience. The argument remains, there are many mobile internet devices (and there will be many more) that present the web in its intended format.

Zteve
