in Spoonfed.co.uk - What Is Going On In London? | Visit spoonfed.co.uk on KillerStartups
Hi there,
@jackkevin
At the moment the service is only available for London - we want to ensure that we have the absolute best events coverage for the city before expanding our offerings.
@Titus
Thanks for the comment - we'll keep an eye out for any monsters heading our way but judging by very enthusiastic feedback, there is room for Spoonfed in the marketplace.
The Spoonfed Team is continually working hard to make finding out what’s on quick, easy and fun and we really appreciate your feedback, comments, ideas.
Cheers,
Meaghan from Spoonfed

in Is Germany That Important to Facebook? on AllFacebook
I think it's a great idea, and honestly if their whole platform is global betterment (as opposed to America betterment which seems to be synonymous for a lot of countries) I think it was a good move to release the application in a language other than English to beginning (assuming, of course, that an English one quickly follows suit). If they had a legitimate business reason to make it German over, say, French, Japanese, Welsh, whatever, then good for them.

in A note of optimism from Techcrunch on The Equity Kicker
I'm glad they're taking an optimistic look - and it's true that a lot of ingenuity seems to present itself in the tech world during the more challenging financial times. Thanks for the link!

in Flickr is now conversational on blog till you drop!
You know, I've always wanted to know more about how flickr works because I'm sure that I, like you say, would get completely addicted - it's just visual candy for the day. But I haven't taken the time to figure out all of the features - I just use it as free image hosting for now :)

in Bad PR, dating geeks and another night out with bloggers… on blog till you drop!
Hi there - I discovered your blog through the London Bloggers meetup.com group (which I just joined) and hope you don't mind the random comment and subscriber! I also like this post as I am on both the sending and receiving end of blog pitches and am always interested to hear other experiences/reactions. Hope to read more from your blog soon!

in Some virtual worlds data on The Equity Kicker
Agreed with above comment, that would be a really interesting report. I'd be particularly interested to see the breakdown in % between the under 18s and over 35s; which virtual worlds are most dominant (my guesses would be Second Life, IMVU and Club Penguin but I could be *way* off) and which ones rely on ecommerce or not.

in Balancing the power of the community with the need to take a service forward on The Equity Kicker
I think it made such a difference that they released a trial of the new facebook before actually springing it on everyone (the way they did with the newsfeed). It not only gave people and opportunity to explore the new layout but more importantly it diffused the negative and shrill reactions. For example, instead of a complete uproar of the whole community the day they released the new features, reactions were spread out over the few weeks the trial was in place.
I personally love the new facebook. I don't have to look at anyone's application boxes any more!

in Pandora business model undermined by high royalty demands on The Equity Kicker
I completely agree - I think we'll have to look for some flexibility on both sides, though. Ideally, I could just listen to any song I want whenever I want to. But, for some strange reason, the people who created the music want to earn something out of how much I enjoy their work. Go figure. Well, it'll be an interesting debate but at the moment the music industry holds most of the cards and I hope that there is a resolution that allows music fans to share and enjoy new music while the industry isn't entirely undermined and, gosh, wouldn't it be great if the actual artists got a piece of all of this.
