Great piece, and I totally agree. Here is one more reason. For my multimedia students, I used VideoCue Pro to make some simple teasers. Last week we worked with both the Kodak and the Flip. The output of the HD Mino could be added in VideoCue Pro without conversion, Kodak had to be converted.. a big disadvantage.

Also we changed the form factor slightly. And we tweaked some other things, like the cap that was in some cases a little too tight.

Any 30 pins thingy under your phone is extra, but you don't need to be too afraid about bending the battery if you just hold the phone in your hand and not only the battery. The best way to think of the 3GJUICE is that it's a temporarely device: just use it for 2,5-3 hours and your phone is 100%.

Currently the first batch of the new version will be produced around September 23th. Transportation to your home can be done in 5 days if you live in the USA or The Netherlands. I can't give you a 100% guarantee because I don't control the courier...

1. No. The only thing you will cover with the 3GJUICE are your energy needs, not your speaker :)
2. The 3GJUICE is a device that you only use for 2,5-3 hrs. After that, your iPhone is loaded for 100%, so you don't need it anymore. If you need to call exactly in those 2,5-3 hrs (with the 3G JUice attached), put your phone in your hand palm (as you would normally do). If you only hold the 3G JUICE, nothing bad will happen, but if you start running at the same time, it's like a candle on a plate. It will fall off.

One customer has very deep pockets and uses the 3GJUICE like you said.In general the 3GJUICE is designed to lay flat on a table, chair, desk, passenger chair or to be hold on your hand while you hold the phone.

I wouldn't recommend using any 30 pins device in a situation with a lot of movement...

Thanks for your great input. For the first versions of the 3G JUICE we concentrated on power and stability and the beste energy capacity. We're almost done with that: the next version will be able to power a dead iPhone (0%) to 100% energy, has a energy efficiency of 85% (leave the battery in your glove department for months and it's still fresh) and has the best stability with 2A IC and not 1A IC as almost every other vendor has.

The new batch will be finished in the 3th week of September. It's a new model. If you order now, you get it for the same price as the old model. The unit will look exactly the same as the current model, but inside we made a lot of change to boost the efficiency of the battery. Why didn't we come with this model in the first place? It's a product 2.0! You all came with good suggestions which we tried to implement in this model.

The real output needed for you iPhone is normally below 0.9A, so we thought in the first version that a 1A output current was fine. But in reality your iPhone or iPod sometimes wants 0.97A and in some rare cases even more then 1A. The new version has an brand new electronic circuit which is able to deliver 2A output current. Any peaks can easily be taken care of, resulting in a very, very cool battery. With some tweaking in the integrated circuits we managed to boost the efficiency of the battery too. In labtests we got 90% efficiency. Since we live in a real world, we tested it also during office hours, in cars, in planes and other places. The efficiency was still 85-90%. That is a industry record for such small battery.

Also we changed the alignment so you get a perfect horizontal phone and battery. A new integrated circuit will make your 3GJUICE under extreme conditions: -40 - +80 (Celsius). Smaller improvements: no glue used, better fitting cap, new strip, extra overload protection.

Unlike other products where power loss occurs when the backup battery is not used for several days or weeks, we have managed to make true shutdown in the circuits. It means that our backup battery can hold power for months if it is not used. If you don't use it for a full year, about 70% juice is still in it.

We position the 3GJUICE as the strongest clip on battery on the market. The Kensington is good, go buy it. But keep in mind that it's only 1800 mAh and not 2250 as you wrote. See also:

I consider the Kensington big and bulky: it has a connector that is big as the 3G JUICE AND has a plastic black box to power the connector...

I’m always in a quest for battery juice because I travel a lot. Yes, I’m that pathetic person that bought a heavy block of metal so I can work for 9 hours on my Macbook Air. For even smaller devices I bought the Philips Power 2 Go, a piece of plastic (PDF, 256 Kb) that kept my iPhone 1.1.4 alive.

I got tired of loosing cables and have stuff with me that's 5x heavier then the phone I use it for. So that's why I developed the 3G JUICE.

Is it safe? The next best smallest battery available (without cables) is only 1200 mAh. Ours has 50% more power. Be assured, the product output voltage/current is designed per Apple specification. It will not damage your iPhone/ iPod. It has only one contact part with the iPhone/ iPod- the connector which is also specifically ordered from Apple’s specified vendor (only one vendor). Is it a battery just attached to a 30 pins connector? No, there is also an integrated circuit built in to avoid power problems.

You can't charge both, can you explain me why you would like to do that?
