We just held an "unsummit" in Minneapolis — for all the reasons you mentioned. And our event was similar to what you described: decentralized, bountiful and very democratic. You can learn more about it at our site (we did register the .org domain!): http://unsummit.org. We weren't going to have another unsummit until next year (when the local online marketing association has its Summit), so perhaps you'd want to borrow the domain for your own unsummit?

in Skype is my main phone now - Patrice's Weblog on Patrice's Weblog

I am going to Peru in June and plan on doing some work with my U.S. clients via Skype. Do you know if it a problem at most Internet Cafes to plug in your own laptop? I was thinking that it would be preferable to using one of their machines and having to download Skype each time.
