However, NO MATTER what the seller guarantees, a digital product seller is legally able to keep all monies earned through sale of a digital product via PayPal.com without fear of losing his PayPal business account. I don't have the time to update myself or whatever, in every social media. I feel Tumblr, Plurkme, Xazzle and Twitter to be the easiest to use but somehow I spent more time on Twitter (that cartoon bird worked I guess!)

It's not totally about which social media is better (each one has its flaws and strengths) but I feel if you focus long enough in just one social media, over time you can 'build' a community who's interested enough to follow you - even if you post infrequently. Even if the build-up is slow.

Re: Do You Have To Touch Every Conversation

Oh sorry - I meant Zazzle!

P.S. The reason why I don't use it is because I don't follow everyone who follows me, although I do follow 95% of the time. (Luckily there are desktop clients and tools that can send you all direct messages in "Daily Digest" form or else your head's gonna get bigger! And thank God, I don't need to reply to every Twitter message directed to me.)

@StevenSanders I am Be-A-Magpie user but I personally set it to once every 20 tweets so it doesn't "act up" everyday. Still I have no idea what people are getting after every 20th my of tweet, so may be you can give me a clue to how a Magpie tweet looks like?

Thank you for the discussion here Chris!

Re: Social Media is No Place for Robot Behavior

I sorta agree with QuantumGod. If you don't send messages automatically to hundreds in your list, how do you know which are the people who would respond to you personally? But I do agree it's irritating when people do not know how to creatively use automatic "twits". (I have never used 'auto robot messages' other than the ones my blog automatically twits to twitter.)

Question: What if it's an automatic thank-you to my new followers with a link to a greeting ecard for them? Or a link to a free experimental toolbar (no malware or spyware nor virus) download? Or a digital pin-up calendar you can use on your desktop as a screensaver too? Dan (Dhollings) is using 'robot-messages' with a lot of success.

Re: Social Media is No Place for Robot Behavior

haha @Ian D. I know it's tedious but that's the safe way if you do not want Wordpress headaches.

Luckily, self-hosted Wordpress blogs do not take more than a month to get back their Blogger blog's previous "page rankings". I lost my Page3 ranking (within 2 weeks) after moving from one server to another without backup and I was posting back only about 25% of what I had previously posted (Google and MSN cached my previous blog entries which was really helpful). (And yeah, remember to delete your old Blogger account so as to prevent Google penalty or slap.)

As of now, I still do not know if Blogger blog's comment page can be customised. That's one thing I dislike of Blogger blogs.

kellys last blog post...One Human Trait often Overlooked as a “Online Success Ingredient” (Part 2)

Re: Comments that SUCK!

The only NEW feature that Blogger has now - you can have all comments right under every post instead of the dumb pop-up window for comments (I hate that pop-up too!)

I still prefer self-hosted wordpress blogs. They really stand out! :)

kellys last blog post...One Human Trait often Overlooked as a “Online Success Ingredient” (Part 2)

Re: So You are a Successful Blogger — Really?

I think I am somewhere in-between. :)

kellys last blog post...One Human Trait often Overlooked as a “Online Success Ingredient” (Part 2)

Re: 4 Reasons Why I’m Removing Blogrush From My Blog

Blogrush couldn't detect Blogrush widget on my self-hosted wordpress blog. You know....I am new to blogging but what you've just experienced could be what I am ABOUT to experience (but of course I hope not to or never to experience it!) I always leave comments in bloggers of similiar minds and content. Where money is concerned, some can be really really sensitive and get nasty.

I think you did the right thing of blocking via Twitter. Especially for people who's "stealing content" without tracking back or mentioning your blog.

I have recently linked to good blogs who were promoting the SAME PRODUCTS I was promoting (text link or display ads). I do not see it as SOMETHING BAD. Generous bloggers fare better (in my opinion) and will not feel the fear of "competition" or ned to be saying things like "XXXX stole my commenter!!! And business!"

kellys last blog post...One Human Trait often Overlooked as a “Online Success Ingredient” (Part 2)

Re: How I got 300% More Blog Traffic in just One Week, Part 2

I guess I am a little luckier in a sense cos before I realised that I was on first 5 pages (Google) for "girly wordpress", I wasn't using any SEO "tips" at all (at one time Feedjit widget revealed I was getting a lot of visits via Google for "girly wordpress"). I am not using SEO much although sometimes I do download tools and try them out. I guess I need to be more focused.

kellys last blog post...One Human Trait often Overlooked as a “Online Success Ingredient” (Part 2)

Re: PR in ‘09! I think one of the problems is that people are following without checking out Bios first (I am guilty of this).

I am already following @Phaoloo (great tweets altho I don't get to catch his tweets LIVE often) and I just followed @BkMacDaddy! I am also consoled I am not the most talkative (was worried I was being an irritant), and I am happy when people respond, even if it is to a silly quote I tweet!

Twitter is so simple to use, unlike Facebook, there's nothing much else to really distract you (other than the DMs)! Simplicity is Twitter's advantage.

THANK YOU for blogging abt this and for the shoutout Charles! You rock!
