I'm sure you will be as successful in this new venture as you have been in the past. Best wishes

Re: Can you recommend me a good speech to text for Seesmic?

Loic, I'd be happy to chat regarding this. My first question would be "What are you trying to achieve? Do you really want speech to text for search and hence contextual ads or are you looking to provide a deeper engagement?"

Re: Overlay.TV gets boost to push overlay technology in video

Thanks Matt. Great article. One point of clarity. We are very focused on making money now and every year. The question you asked was about profitability which is several years away and reflects heavy investment in the platform

Re: Watching Dara Torres on Jay Leno Let Me See the Future of Online Video Monetization

Completely agree with your post and now imagine if the audience had the ability to tag the product and become part of a revenue stream

Re: A couple of interesting presentations @ the Social Media Breakfast

Really glad you enjoyed it and thanks for attending SMB8. At one end of the spectrum you have content owners looking to provide a direct measurable response to their advertisers. They could be looking to make their content more interactive or providing a more measurable return for their product placement dollars. At the other end of the spectrum, you have regular users that have uploaded or have knowledge of a video, maybe through their Facebook profile. They may use overlay.TV to place fun commentary about their friends and maybe a link to a product also. We have a large affiliate network from which products can be overlaid and this is expanding daily.

The beauty of Overlay.TV is that it is non-prescriptive. The user decides what’s relevant to overlay and how best to place that overlay in the video. They then monitor if their assumptions have been correct and can go and modify the overlay accordingly. By putting the user in control, the overlaid content, be it advertising, links or commentary, is relevant to the video and hence more likely to be clicked through especially when you consider the author is also the influencer and shares the overlay with his/her peer group.

Re: 2008/10/07/youtube-click-to-buy/

Full Disclosure. I co-founded Overlay.TV so am clearly biased but if you get a chance, suggest you take a look at http://overlay.tv as we provide a platform for YouTube, and many other video sharing sites, that pushes the boundaries on user interaction and monetization far beyond the YouTube current announcements and toolset.

Re: 2008/10/07/youtube-click-to-buy/

Only if you believe that Overlay.TV's business is purely UGC, which is isn't, and only f you believe YouTube is the only video site, which it isn't
