in Should Politicians Use Social Media? on Social Times
These are some great comments guys. I am interested in what Eric said about time lag in the metrics of social media and the amount of time needed to invest in it. I find time is a major reason people fail to adopt social media.

in What is your Social Media Sweet Spot? on Social Times
That would be amazing Ellen! Isn't funny how with all we know about social media, PR and Marketing we find new ways to grow social media as a tool on a daily basis.

in Am I too Lazy for This Social Media Thing? on Social Times
Thanks for the input and suggestions. My Yahoo isn't perfect for a feed reader but the old military in me needs some sort of structure to keep up with this crazy 'social media' world.
MY yahoo also sends all my feeds to my yahoo mail so I can check them from my phone, something I find very valuable when I am stuck in an office or on a train.

in Facebook Used to Battle Colombian Revolutionaries on Social Times
Eric:
I didn't write this post to try and create a social political argument about semantics. I simply stated that many of the residents of that country, my girlfriend included, live in fear of these guerrilla groups.
I simply wrote this piece to demonstrate that the young, disenfranchised, youth of Colombia are using a social tool to try and instigate change.
As for the fact on what the 'Farc' would comment on. I really find that internet access to be one of the great levelers of social economic classes. I have lived in many different regions and have always marveled the 'lower' classes ability to utilize internet cafes and public access points.

in NY State to Bar Sex Offenders From Facebook on AllFacebook
It is an interesting problem and as Brian says it is easier to go after the "end of the food chain than" fix the problem. I think as David said education of children is one of our best bets. Maybe we Facebook and Myspace could create an online class that kids could take that would help them identify sex offenders. These kids could get some kind of online badge or recognition that would show up on their page.

in Twitter Could Save Your Life in a Disaster on Social Times
The technology is based on the principle that SMS and Tweets take far less bandwidth, there for less signal, than standard cell communication. Several DoD agencies use simple messaging services to reach there staff in the event of an emergency. Using Twitter just expands on those ideas.
