in Obama vs. Original Nintendo on The Washington Independent
the game is a play off of "super mario world", which came out for the 16-bit Super NES (Nintendo Entertainment System; early 1990's). "original nintendo" would suggest the first system, the 8-bit NES (mid-1980's).

You know, you're right. My childhood memories must be getting fuzzy. I thought I saw elements of the earlier Super Mario Bros. games, but I was wrong. The title would more accurately be Obama vs. Super Nintendo. My apologies.
