Wrote and used a worksheet with it last week (with young learners) and went much better than my first attempt:

Halfway through writing an article on other possible things to do with it
Thanks again for the link to this site

I got the students to tell me what to get the characters saying etc last week. Worked well and will write it up on my blog some time this week

That is such a good teaching tip. I'm going to use it to liven up a deadly dull textbook dialogue for my YL classes. Should get them giggling at least as much as Morphases did

It's interesting that you needed a good class to use an activity which I imagine was supposed to produce a good class...
I was flicking through the fabulous Delta book Knowing Me Knowing You for the first time in years today, and it had something that seemed very similar to Darren's lesson. Nothing deeper than that to add at the mo, will ponder more first
Darren- have you submitted this blog to onestopblogs? Well worth it, I reckon

Hi Alex,
Thanks for that short but perceptive comment. I do often feel that it's not possible to do things like I did with that class with groups that have a lower level. But I wonder how much that has to do with my own fear of things going wrong? This is something I've been pondering for other reasons recently, too. We teachers often seem to feel a need to have something to "teach"; we probably think about that far more than we should, meaning that we leave less time to ponder how to simply(?) create opportunities for learning to happen.

It`s in there, I guess someone might stumble across it. I don`t know how much of it is of interest to the wider audience... at the moment it`s basically a conversation between Peter and I.
The more the merrier though ; )

Me too. Banned for mentioning Laughing Coyote, even though it was a link to the interview where they could point their point of view. Oh well, Rave Spelling's loss, not mine

That's the most ridiculous reason for banning someone yet. Perhaps we should advertise on Dave's, then threaten to withdraw our support unless he bans Mr K? :)

Don't you think you should edit out some of the full names and email addresses from Jeremy's post above?

No can do Alex. I use Disqus' commenting system. The upshot of that is that I do not own, nor does this blog host, the comments. Which is as it should be in my opinion. This is in line with copyright laws on other mediums. I can remove the whole comment from the thread and so make it disappear from view here, but the comment still exists on Disqus. The responsibility for the comments lie solely with Jeremy.
Besides, although I find the whole Black List, and the LCS in general, to be utterly ridiculous, more than one of the combatants have all joined in with email leaking and the such. Seems unfair to not allow Jeremy to defend himself. So I haven't removed any of his posts.

Great article.... I'm considering the tone to take in writing up my experience. I had a few "issues" which lead me on to broader concerns....
