I agree he should be judged on his own merit. Obviously Crean feels comfortable with him, having worked with him before. I agree that that is important, considering all of the restrictions, you need people you trust. If Crean had any reason to believe that Seltzer would hurt him and his desire to restore the IU legacy, I don't think he would bring him here. I guess that puts me in the "Crean Can Do No Wrong" camp if that's what you want to call it. But I just think that the new coach should be given freedom to make decisions he is comfortable with.

I think he's got another assistant lined up as well, he just hasn't been named yet. He was with Crean when I met him 2 days ago and he shot a little bit in Assembly before the guys had individuals. Not sure of his name though since Marquette took down the assistants under Crean, otherwise I'd google him and let you know.

Mike and Mike had Crean on yesterday morning and said that Knight would be on today I believe. They said they'd ask him what he thought about Crean to IU, but didn't expect him to answer. I would assume if he answered then someone would have reported it, but does anyone know if Knight said anything?

I don't think it's all that fair to hate on a FRESHMAN that much. It's not his responsibility to come in here and lead. He did his part, and in the last half of the season he struggled. But he is a tremendous talent, he just needs to be polished a bit, or reined in if you will. I hope he has a great NBA career and I've always though he could be a Gilbert Arenas-type player (if he refines his game a bit, particularly ball handling).

I hope he has a great NBA career. I hope he continues to be a part of the IU program by coming to some games. He is a great kid, always really friendly to me. I really hope the Pacers get him and he develops into the best player he can be. An All-Star! Thanks EJ, good luck.

I've been for keeping Greenspan. I think he has done a good job, and I think Crean's hiring will make him look even better. We are headed in the right direction in a lot of regards.

In these situations I am always interested to see what the team he left says. I've enjoyed reading Milwaukee's reactions. I feel so bad for them, what a terrible feeling that must be. Working with a basketball program and having that happen to the program I have worked with...I know what the players' emotions are.

I just want to say the Marquette players have truly handled it with grace and class thus far. Their quotes are very telling of their character, and hopefully of the character of Crean and what he worked to instill in them. You can tell they really did care about him. I liked Marquette before (mostly because I liked Crean), but I now have even more respect for their players and program. I hope they get a very good coach to continue their success. Maybe they will land Bennett! But I hope that the success that Crean re-established there will continue on under a new leader.

I heard that a while ago, but was never sure if it was true. I work pretty closely to the program though. I heard it secondhand so I wasn't sure.

No, I will tell you from firsthand experience working with Dakich this year...DO NOT promote him to the AD of all things. I hope he finds a job elsewhere. I'll put it that way.
