Grassley, a longtime champion of the wind energy tax incentive, and Rep. Braley for their work at this critical time. We estimate that 116,000 jobs and $19 billion in investment are at risk due to Congress's delay in extending the renewable energy tax credits, and we are hoping for quick action on this issue.

Regards,

Thomas O. Economical wind power does, indeed, depend on sufficient wind at the wind farm site. However, it's interesting to note that wind power is produced in more states than any fuel source. Twenty-five states produce coal, 39 import it. Thirty-two produce natural gas, 38 import it. Meanwhile, 35 produce wind-generated electricity. It would be a relatively simple matter to strengthen the transmission system to make more imported wind available to Florida and other states.

For an authoritative look at what wind power can do, see the 20% by 2030 Technical Report from the U.S. Department of Energy at www.20percentwind.org.

Regards,
Thomas O.
