My passion is refried beans and tortillas. We have like 250 tortillas in the freezer, and seventeen cans of refried beans in the pantry. Mostly it is driving us bonkers with it's constant interruptions to ask if we really really really want to do domething. It's like having a four year old inside my OS. How do you turn that off?

I spent five years updating my XP so it would stop crashing. What a sad "tradition" to be upholding.

I almost peed on myself when I read "the West stole algebra from us, so we have the right to steal 3D Studio Max" Hilarious, and depressing.

Great post.

Re: Digital Nation Seminar on Second Life

Fan-freaking-tastic post!

Second life as a portal to promote Oman tourisim? Joke. I am calling your bluff man, this is a test to see if we are paying attention.

Just in case you are not kidding, I am in total agreement that second life is not the forum to showcase Oman for potential tourists.

In addition to the good reasons that you listed, there are countless PR pitfalls that opening a second life business would leave Oman vulnerable to. Let's say Human Rights Watch stages a virtual Sit in? Or the Rainbow Coalition organises a Virtual Gay love fest to protest discrimination against Homosexuals in the Arab World?

The possible PR disasters are endless, and would likely break into Mainstream media. Bad, Bad, Idea.

Um, Who pays for these seminars? And can I get invited because I really like free food, and Chocolate Fudge.

:)

Re: Shaving Screw Up

That is Hilarious.

We call that area the Top of the Lamb chop. Visualise the Beard that Metallica's lead singer used to have... Looks like a Lamb Chop.

Anyway, I screwed up Stone's beard a while back, and we let it grow for a couple of days, then I used some markers (lots of natural colors) to color in each hair where the lamb chop ends, I darkened both sides slightly, and made them even, and it looked great. It took more than an hour though, and he sitll hasn't forgiven me for screwing it up in the first place.

Re: The Most Ridiculous Omani Web Business Idea (That will probably be bought by hundreds of stupid Omani individuals and companies)

I saw the (shockingly mis-spelled)advert for that and almost died laughing. I'm loving the restaurant reviews.

RE: Kobe Sizzlers- I Gotta disagreee on the food. I thought it was unimaginative rubbish overall. Bland vegitables, sauces heavy on cornstarch and light on flavour, meats overcooked before they even reach the table, and random processed cheese showing up where it doesn't belong. I won't be going back.

Re: Review: Hamburger Nation - Muscat City Centre

Great review.

I found the staff well trained, capable and no-nonsense. They knew what they were doing and did it with confedence which is key in an efficient restaurant.

I loved my burger there (I had the one with Mozzerella, basil pesto, and arugula). THe chips were crisp and perfectly seasoned. They seem to work very hard to source product locally and / or organically whenever possible. It would be nice to see more of that around here.

thanks for the review guys.

Re: To Tip or Not To Tip:That is the Question

We always tip as well, and always in cash for the same reasons Muscati stated.

Exceptional service gets 20% above average service 10-15% The exception is rude service or lazy service (we are pretty easy to look after so there is no excuse) where we tip nothing.

We usually tip if the service is bad but it's not the fault of the waitstaff. It's petty of me, but I'm like "gaddman it! I have opposable thumbs and a reasonable IQ! I think I can figure how to get the food from the bowl to my plate, and from the plate to my mouth. That is not OK to pair an incumbent with a challenger from the other party without permission and Mulligan is big time for Axley. Bad form by Personal PAC. Almost always when teenagers drink OR drive everyone lives. But when a teenager has an abortion, that baby is guaranteed to die. So here legislators are requiring parental involvement when most survive teen drinking OR teen driving but denying even notification for a serious medical procedure when death of the baby is assured. That is an amazing inconsistency. Please note I am not in any way OK with drinking and driving which is why I used the word 'OR' above.
