in Week 1 in the MIA! on Andy Zweibel - Music Musings and Other Randoms…
btw, we thought the same thing here at UGA about him looking like Steve Carell. The trumpet section made the "I Love Lamp" shirt and also made a shirt saying "Loud Noises". He even dressed up like evan baxter (noah) at band camp (with another section dressed up as animals).

I am a member of the UGA redcoat band and had the privilege of having Mr. Tom Keck as my band director for 3 yrs. You all at Miami have an awesome director and we here at UGA felt the same way about him. He is one of the best directors I have ever met and I wish yall the best at the U.

in Housing Implode-o-Meter makes CEOs cry on The Minnesota Independent
Actually, Fox DID lose the clip, but our savvy readers picked it up, and sent it in (it was a live interview around 2 pm). Here's the link (4-minutes):

In regards to "don't offer many solutions," that I would have an issue with. By exposing the hypocrisy from within, creating transparency from the AE in the field to the Boardroom planners, we have become part of the HUMAN solution.
In some cases where a company lays off 30 people in one part of the state, and 40 more in another, we become the communication link letting them know to check the WARN Act.
Many Mortgage companies have had to think twice, and then think again before they mistreat either the public, or their employees because of the Implode-O-Meter... the truth WILL get out there, it WILL be published in papers and the 'net coast-to-coast, and corporations WILL act more responsible with the knowledge we are watching, and reporting.
Industry whistle blowers send us the info and hundreds-of-thousands, including the mainstream press and the regulators watch our site daily.
It's good for the industry, and your term "watch-dog" is appropriate.

in Did My Students Drink the Kool-Aid? on Andrew McAfee's Blog
In these responses, I sense an overwhelming desire to flatten organizations and open up the channels of communication. I wonder though, how long it will be until we reinstitute the traditional hierarchies of communication which have evolved to control information overload in larger organizations. If we can't ensure a good signal-to-noise ratio, these communcation channels will be ignored at the top and information will continue to flow downhill.
What are some of the best ways you have found to aggregate and measure information contributed by a flat organization that limit distractions at the top, but also allow the important things contributed at the bottom to flow up quickly?
I think we all need to improve visablity, it is imperative in a highly functioning organization, but it is also important to focus our time wisely.
What are some of the ways Enterprise 2.0 tools are helping us strike a balance?

in MLS All Star Starting XI Named on Major League Soccer Talk
I thought that these 11 were just named to the team and wouldn't necessarily be starting. Is that wrong?
Also, I'm a little surprised by Gomez. He really struggled early on.

Does anyone else find it a bit funny that these "Herb Chambers" employees: a. write like eight year olds and b. seem to have a "blame the customer" approach? Give me a break.
