i have had a number of pocket digital cameras. including the DSC-T1, some decidedly non pocket sized sony which resembled a lens with a screen hinged on, and a number of canon powershots (sd200, sd600 and now the sd850). i actually went from the sd200 to the DSC-T1 and while there were more megapixels in the sony, i felt the quality of the highres images was better in the sd200. so to the sd600 i went. unfortunately for me, my sd600 managed to lose flash capabiliites so that got gifted to a friend and the sd850 became my new baby.

as you can tell i'm a canon bigot, but i also have seen outstanding shots from Fuji's pocket digicams and the olympus ones. the benefit given your above is the canons are all sd card cameras (well the sd* ones are, most of the powershots have gone sd, some still are compact flash) i think fuji is using xd still? and olympus... not sure.

oh and the canons have decent movie capabilites, recording motion jpegs in avi containers.
