My Yukon ID is 88E8056 so if you have a different ID just make the adjustment.

Ok, first browse through your directory and make sure you have the same path as this:

/System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleYukon2.kext/Contents/Info.plist

There may be some slight difference so check first and make the necessary change if needed.

Now open Terminal and type the following (texts after the arrow are comments):

cd /System/Library/Extensions <-- changes directory

sudo nano IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleYukon2.kext/Contents/Info.plist <-- edits file

(find and change: Yukon-88E8053)
(to: Yukon-88E8056) <-- change "53" to "56"

(find and change: Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8053)
(to: Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8056) <-- change "53" to "56"

(find and change: 0x436211AB)
(to: 0x436411AB) <-- change "62" to "64"

(press Control-O) <-- saves changes
(press Enter) <-- accepts saving to existing file
(press Control-X) <-- exits nano

sudo chown -R root:wheel IONetworkingFamily.kext <-- repairs permissions
cd /System/Library <-- changes directories
sudo rm -rf Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache <-- rebuilds kextcache on reboot

Re: Turn Your PC into a Mac…

Thanks AulonAlbania. However, because of the auto redirect, people clicking on the old blog links from search results will see your new blog on your new domain (remember to adjust your Permalinks if necessary). WP.com ranks high in search engines because it is highly optimized and therefore blogs on it benefit too. Expect though that initially, your new blog will lose the traffic you're normally getting from your old blog. Over time, around a month or so, search engines will start pointing to your new blog, provided you continue to create interesting posts and do your own site search engine optimization.

Although I haven't reached a year of redirecting myself, I believe you won't be needing to renew your WP.com redirection after a year. After a little over a month, my own searches on Google shows my new blog in search results while I haven't seen my WP.com blog anymore.

Re: Downgrade from iPhone 2.0 to 1.1.4 Firmware

Thanks Brian. There is no single solution for creating a Hackintosh because of the myriad of PC hardware out there. I have tried iATKOS and Kalyway among others since Tiger, and so far, iATKOS v1.0ir2 has been the most stable and problem-free 10.5.1 installer on my hardware. iATKOS v1.0ir2 + Kalyway 10.5.2 is best for the 10.5.2 version and iATKOS v1.0ir2 + Mysticus 10.5.3 is the best for 10.5.3. Currently, iATKOS v_4i is working best on my PC than any other installer combinations for 10.5.4.

So, if Kalyway works best for you then good for you. Just don't trash the other installers as they work great for other people. However, you can quickly recover this as your subscribers are automatically redirected to your new site and new visitors come in. Old links will remain pointed to your old blog but anyone clicking on them will be redirected to your new one.

Re: Globe Releases 3G iPhone Pricing : Hold On to Your Old One!

Unless you really need to use 3G and your service provider offers unlimited 3G access (unlike Globe), then your old iPhone will still serve you very well with little to distinguish from the new iPhone--if you know what I mean.

Re: Redirecting WordPress.com to WordPress.org

Good luck and enjoy!

Re: How To Fix a Broken Mail App in iPhone

@Jamie

That's great.

I heard there is another solution using Boss Prefs on a 2.x iPhone. Click on "More" and then "Fix User Dir Permission".

I haven't tried it yet though. =)
