Funny, once I clicked in the widget in Firefox 2, my keyboard PgUp and PgDn keys were stuck in the box, and I couldn't use them to move up and down your page either on the front page or here.

in I love Battlestar Galactica (Scripting News) on Scripting News
To each their own. I watched the 1st session and was emotionally upset from the show. I thought wow that is some amazing mind warping psycho show!

Season 2 got rid of my nightmares. I was left with a bland taste in my mouth. The Cylon's went from being a mysterious impressive species to robots that couldn't handle human emotion.

I never really had an appreciation for just how much the writing makes or breaks a show. Here the juice of the writing dried up, and we were left with another series that makes me embarrassed to love sci fi (at least I continue to treasure sci fi books).

in Well gee I must be a liar on Shooting at Bubbles
Hi Steve, just wanted to apologize for what I wrote. I was in a bit of a mood for unrelated reasons, and got carried away.

Others have pointed out that is an a very old version of the theme viewer, from before Automattic actively managed it, that is why it isn't in our code repository. Anyway, that is no excuse for what I wrote. You have my sincerest apology (though I wonder why there would be any other type.)

Bryan, the significant bug that caused problems with inserting YouTube into the WordPress 2.5 visual editor has been fixed. Specifically http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3010 . I've previously written about this issue http://foolswisdom.com/embedding-youtube-in-wor... If you're still having problems with youtube in WP 2.5, please feel free to contact me directly.

Does your theme support tags, or is it just that your SEO plugin puts them as HTML meta head keywords. Bah :p

in From farts to diamonds on Scobleizer
Scoble, I can't believe you didn't answer how big can they make the diamonds? I see more diamonds needing to be purchased for my wife Julia in my future, and would love to give her a... larger, more beautiful diamond.

The Diamond Age has been promised for a few years now.

in “Local Warming” - Quoted in a TED Presentation on Zoli's Blog
I'm glad you posted about your article here in a comment on Scoble's post, because I was under the mistaken impression after seeing the video that it was "Filmed Mar 2003". Of course, if you referenced post Will Geeks Become an Endangered Species? was only done in October 2006...

I'm reassured although ahead of his time, Yossi Vardi isn't that ahead of his time.

in Bloggers Divided Over Lane Hartwell Photography Issue on Laughing Squid
One thing that has bothered me about this whole discussion is that people are talking about the group The Richter Scales instead of talking about the individuals, the people, making the decisions and taking the actions. Why does Lane have to stand on her own, but The Richter Scales have shelter in their group?

in Why Lane Hartwell is wrong on Mathew's comments
Well said! I'm surprised Lane did this. If her copyright is so regularly abused there are far better targets. Why beat up on good people? Now that she though its time for everyone to move on -- again, why beat up on good people?

in Vista, Vostro on Austin Web Designer - Adam Freetly
Wow, only like 4 bones difference! That really surprises me, any idea why that is?

I wonder what it is costing Dell for technical (telephone) support of the Ubuntu models?

That's a bummer that Ubuntu isn't an option on the higher end models. Hopefully, that will come with time -- would be great for business/corporate penetration.

Thanks for sharing these tidbits.

Aside, I didn't even notice the default check mark in the "Notify me ... via email". Good old black on dark grey.

Buying hardware that supports Linux is an awesome move even if you choose not to run in. That sends the right message to them, though you already knew that ;-)
