But the third movie, sadly, just BORROWED far too many motifs from the first two movies, and double-dosed on the least interesting aspects of them. Car chase scenes, cutting the chick's hair, "Look at what they make you give", the evil CIA boss with something to hide, Southern-style Kung Fu fight scenes, Jason limping etc etc.

A pity. That being said, when you consider that two of the world's top ten wine brands have recently approached me, independantly of each other, wanting to pick my brains, then your logic starts breaking down somewhat.

Anyway, I never claimed that taking on Mondavi/Kalon/Gallo on their own terms was part of the biz model. The great thing about Robert [i.e. one of the secrets of his success] is that he's fallible. He's not perfect. He knows a lot about a few things, and not enough about some other stuff that maybe he should know. Just like the rest of us. Which is why we like him. Which is why we're interested in hearing what he has to say, even if his expertise doesn't spread as far and wide as we would sometimes prefer.

Just remember, if you take enough pops as somebody, eventually the crowd will turn around and start holding you up to as high scrutiny as you've been holding others to. And not everybody is ready for that to happen, so be careful.

Re: “He sure likes to eat”

I met Loren in March. The bad news is, the overall market can only support a tiny handful of them.

Re: Why Microsoft outplays Apple long term

Robert,

All the talks I've been having Microsoft recently are ALL about reaching out into the community.
