I've kept it for more than a year but I'm going to pull it soon. It brought some good traffic and helped me build my reader, which I believe is probably the extent of its usefulness. Most of the EC blogs I find are worthless to me.

Someday you may be happy to look so young, but I sympathize with your frustration. My niece is 19, a college sophomore, but since she's less than five feet tall, she gets offered children's menus and unaccompanied minor privileges. Meanwhile, she's so freakishly intelligent that sometimes I can't even figure out her writing, but it's hard to get strangers to take her seriously.

My daughter has tried her darnedest to trick my parents into admitting she's their favorite grandchild. They're not buying it.

Oh how I wish I could just get rid of the computers and the television! I know they're using the computer for work and learning, some of the time, but the rest of the day they'd stay glued to the screen and if I try to make them quit they tirade for twenty minutes.

She's so proud. At that age my son liked to wear a pair of cheesy elbow length satin gloves. On his feet.

Did she run to get her shoes after this picture was taken? Mine always did. They'd come running in, all excited, assuming that having shoes meant they definitely got to go wherever everyone else was going.

Maybe he's the birdy version of a diva.

Goodness -- I hope she didn't eat it! That would be cannibalism. Still, it is filled with chocolate ...

Son: "Mom, I need this costume by tomorrow."
Me: "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Son: "The note was in my backpack."

I've been exactly where you are and found that the best way is just not to be available -- "Sorry, I'm busy ... can't talk ... I have plans that night". it's hard because someone will eventually have the chutzpah to ask what's up, but you have every right to make choices about who you want and need to hang with. I very much want my two year old Tibetan terrier to be a therapy dog but she's still wild and I don't have the time to add one more thing to my agenda. Maybe this summer when I'm not driving to school twice a day I can take her for some training.
