Also, it's not as simple as just hopping to another carrier. Your iphone won't work with T-mob's 3G because they use a different frequency. You can make calls, sure, but if that's all you wanted, you wouldn't have got an iPhone....

But you *can* go where you want to go. You just have to return the discount they gave you on the phone for promising to stay.

in Twitter Alternatives - Plurk Or Pownce on The Beta News
@Dennis - yup, when it's working, both tweeting and receiving followed tweets occur via IM (assuming you set that device on).
I've been playing with ping.fm and it allows me to post to both twitter and plurk via IM (to ping.fm's bot) and that get's me halfway there, but not being able to receive is a bummer - I feel like I'm talking to myself.

I like plurk so far, though it's having it's share of stability problems. The thing that makes pownce a non-contender for me is the lack of IM integration. Others may feel that SMS is more important, but IM is far and away my preferred method of interfacing with these kind of services, to both post entries and get notified of other's.

in 5 Pen Tricks from Japan — Uh oh… on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Nice overview. There *are* somewhat official names for the moves, as follows:
The Helicopter = Thumb Around
The Pincher = Sonic
The Wheel = Finger Pass
The Drummer = Charge
The Flip = Finger Pass
(Your Wheel and Flip are variants of the general Finger Pass)
Search for 'pen spinning' or check out the pentrix.com site for more info and tutorials and such. There are a bunch of cool videos on youtube as well.
