AJ - I am assuming from your comment that you have read 1984, which does show that at some point you possessed the intelligence to understand it and remember it. Now, I pose a few questions for you.

One - leaving aside the FACT that Clinton (the left's night in sticky armor) awarded AT LEAST one no-bid contract to Haliburton, why is it that we are expected to wait until we are attacked to respond? Is there some rule that requires us to have THOUSANDS OF DEAD BODIES to "justify" going to war? I hope not, as I prefer a pro-active war where we are not merely responding to an attack.

Second, have you read the entire book? Do you not know that it was not the same type of person as today's conservative that created Oceana? In fact, the inner party are more like liberals, in that they want to control your thoughts, hate religion, and do not follow even the most simple of their own rules. Much like Animal Farm, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".

Last - Do you HONESTLY believe that the dems will "get us out of Iraq"? If so, you might want to take another class or 20 in U.S. Government. The President is the ONLY PERSON who can order a withdrawl, no matter what bills have been passed. By attaching a RETREAT timeframe (not to mention plenty of pork) to a funding bill, the dems are shooting their own feet, as there are plenty of people who will remind the entire country of this when 2008 rolls around.

So, no matter how much they try to claim they are "for the troops, just not the war", I WILL be there to ask them why they delayed DESPERATELY needed funding for only political reasons.

Now, any other cute references to books you feel make you smart, AJ? Trust me son, I'm sure I've read at least 25 times the number of books as you, and that number will only continue to grow!

Orion - As Amy said, the Dems are more than willing to fund anything as long as they get to take it completely over. Congress was never supposed to do anything but fund or not fund the military, as opposed to right now trying to force us to surrender with their funding.

In addition, the dems are the ones screaming that we are going deeper and deeper in debt, but refuse to stop spending. Their war funding bill actually includes money for congressional salaries.

Trust me Orion, I watch pretty much all of the news networks, and Fox is BY FAR the most honest!

The issue here is not that people don't believe the soldiers want to finish the job, the problem is that the defeatocrats have so convinced the anti-war-IDIOTS that our soldiers are stupid and are just murderous psychos with a gun fetish, that it doesn't matter what our soldiers say, the left will say that our soldiers don't know what's best, the decisions should be left to POLITICIANS who do not care about winning, only about their next election!
