in louisgray.com: RSSmeme Creator Served With Legal Threat Over RSS Sharing on louisgray.com
I created a Java image harvesting spider back in 1999, made some webmasters very angry, legal threat to my ISP. Years later Google uses my idea and nobody blinks ;-)

Not really. At the very least an artist-author needs a hosting account, which is too technical for most people, which is why we have YouTube/Myspace. And selling ads isn't that easy either, which is why we have Adsense, YPN, etc.

How much profit do you make from a site that gets 100 non-spam comments/day? I don't like the idea of you getting access to all my traffic, but if you paid out a % of your advertising I could be interested in some kind of deal. I like the threads and if this thing will actually help me moderate things quicker, but that functionality is not worth giving away traffic, control of content and design.

It's beautiful right now in LA. Venice beach, Santa Monica and roller blades! And you guys are stuck in NYC baked in a concrete jungle, with stabbings, gunshots and sour grapes. You should have moved to LA while you had the chance.

Do you think your blog will ever be more popular in Second Life, or is text not as useful inside SL?

I admit I check out Rocketboom now and then. They are rolling in ad $ but I think she keeps a TI 99/4a on her desk as a prop. I get a kick out of that--I had one as a kid, with the speech synth on the side!
Thanks for chiming in. I'd like to clarify some things about our content policy, but instead of describing the all the nuances, I'd just like to make clear that we do not make any claims or locks on traffic, content, or design.
