This one of your obsessions is really growing on me. I didn't expect to like her as much as I do when I first started hearing her stuff, but she's got depth... which is ironically hard to find among artists.

Okay, so I knew about the lyrics switch being legit, and I still really like Jason. I just want to mother him... but I've never understood the Archuleta fanaticism. He's forgettable for me. Love Brooke, but she better step up. And I've never been David C.'s biggest fan, but he does something great every week and I'm starting to have trouble ignoring him. ;0) Syesha can go home even though I can't pin down why I'm not in love. And I'm bummed about Carly... if not really surprised.

I'm going to badly disappoint you and say that I don't get it. Is it a musical or just a random bit of whimsy inserted into a film. Actually, as a random bit of whimsy, I might be most impressed...

I really like Carly. I think she has the best voice of the women, in terms of finish. Also really like Michael. Remiele has always been boring to me...I just can't get into her, though she does have a big voice for such a little body. I really like Brooke as a person, and she knows how to choose her reperatoire appropriately--not sure she has the umph to win, though.

I like Vampire Weekend... they remind me of the Beetles a bit, but then I have never heard The Clash that I knew what I was listening to. Its not so much the actual sound that they produce, but the form and tonality of the music that is Beetles-esque to me. ;0) Fun stuff.

By the way, I Netflixed "Away from Her." It was engaging, I watched the whole thing, but I kept waiting for something climactic to happen and it never did. I like films with definite build and release, and this one just didn't do that for me so I was a bit disappointed. I was touched by the issues raised, especially with my Mom's mind coming and going the way it does, but something was missing...

I always add a bunch of movies to Netflix based on your recommendations and then they come in the mail and Justin is like, "Where the heck does she hear about these movies!" I, therefore, seem much more mysterious and worldly to him than I actually am, which has it's value after 5 years of marriage. ;0)

I have read 4 of them, and am reading Portrait of a Lady right now. I admit that this is my 3rd go at getting all the way through, though. I think I need to be in the right frame of mind to approach any given book. It took me several tries to read Le Mis and Great Expectations too. I take Dickens with a pretty open hand, there are portions I skim.

What about the shot from What Lies Beneath? The one that follows her from the bathroom, into the bedroom, back out into the hall, and then into the bathroom again where there is writing on the mirror! Dun Dun Dun... I don't remember how long it is, but I did a project on it in college and got an A (which I think is just because I noticed the length of shot, given that the class was a freshman requirement and we all know the average awareness of the college freshman.) That one didn't meet or exceed any records?

The shows I watch, I watch as they come (for the most part). Justin says I'm a tv junky, but my kids go to bed at 8, which is when primetime starts here. So I am tied to the house with him gone til midnight and I get to enjoy my shows for a little while.

And who is your wireless carrier because we could totally text. I keep my marriage viable via text, texting I do well. ;o)

Love Ugly Betty, we totally agree on that one. Love Grey's Anatomy, with ya all the way. Really enjoy Private Practice, more so than you do. COULD EAT PUSHING DAISIES UP WITH A SPOON!!!! I am worried about sustainability too, but if the writers can continue to be creative, I think it has real potential. you know how I like surrealistic stuff. Dirty Sexy Money is totally my guilty pleasure. Heroes tries my patience. Love Bones. House ROCKS. And I don't know how you have time for more shows than that!

Like Rilo Kiley, could get attached if I found some songs that the lyrics particularly moved me (silver lining was good). LOVE The Bird and the Bee!

I miss 101.1! We have the equivalent of a bad y98 here and that's the best station. Grrr... Um, I really like Rob Thomas. Ideally, we would go to a Matchbox 20 concert, but those are scarceish given the split so I'll take Rob Thomas alone. Also really like Dave Mathews Band. Basically, I am a whole lot more mainstream than you are... but that has something to do with what I can find around here too.

I wouldn't be included in that wrong sort of people list, would I? :0) Not that I go to many rock concerts these days. You're just a suprising person!

Can I just say that it totally blows me away that you are the type that goes to that type of concert now? I mean, speaking as one who has known you from the ground up, what happend? ;0)

My feelings EXACTLY! And by the way, didn't want to like Ugly Betty. Fought it. Refused to watch it. Finally gave in, in spite of much teasing from my husband. LOVE IT! The entire feel of the show is fresh.

I am also a classically trained musician so that might have some bearing on things. Not to mention the fact that my current lifestyle demands a discipline that I might otherwise not hold myself to. I am impressed by your balance, though, and frankly not suprised by your mom's.

And, by the way, most people consider me to be artistic, so there y' have it.

My left brain is 10 and my right brain is 7. I wouldn't say I'm balanced, but at least I'm not IMbalanced. ;0)

Do we know if Veronica Mars is back? Gilmore Girls finished so I thought that might have affected things.

can I just say that your first two noted releases are guilty pleasures of mine? I told you before that I have to be home by 8 most nights just because my kids go to bed, and what do I do when they go to bed? Crack out my guilty pleasures, the hit TV shows. Justin thinks I'm nuts. Good picks!

Cool music. I thought Glen Hansard sounded like the lead singer from Five For Fighting. He's not, I checked, but I figured out why I like his sound (I like FFF).

So what I want to know is where you are watching Australian Idol... that doesn't seem to me to be something they run on primetime local. ;0)
