in Google arrogant? on Scobleizer
It is a serious flaw in any argument to talk about an organization as if it was one monolithic organism acting and thinking in unison.

We're all connected and when something interesting happens in our community it goes worldwide very quickly.

That is true - eNews spreads faster than an eVirus - but on the down side, Now it will be easier for RUMOURS to spread.... and if they happen NOT to be true - someone's rep or stock shares could be immediately affected. :(

in Missed big HR meeting (MyMicrosoft is now improved) on Scobleizer
These are not small little tweaks. They are wholesale changes to how Microsoft treats its employees
============================
Were they in any way influenced by Google's highly pubicized approaches?
Pehaps there was fear of the best and brightest - leaving for the hi-profile competition.
Will you get - 20% of time to work on personal projects - option?
Now, THAT would be wholesale ;-)

in New way to make bucks with advertising (Microsoft is screwed, Blodgett says); A9 switches to Windows Live on Scobleizer
The next evolution Search may be:
--> Intelligent Concept Search Technology
--> Latent Semantic Indexing
--> Personalized Search Results based on User Learning
Microsoft and Google will possibly be forefront in optimizing these new technologies - because they will require the very highest of the hi-tech to implement - and will require MASSIVE resources.
Both G and MS have access to some of the brightest software engineers worldwide along the deep investment pockets.

in More on Eye-Fi on Scobleizer
///// Chris asks "I would love to know how this works." Unfortunately I can't give away all the details, Eye-Fi hasn't finished the development and Yuval asked me not to talk about how it works technically.
==================================
Apparently this works via the special EyeFi Server acting as the redirect-middle-layer.
The software in the Card and the EyeFi server is probably synched via your personal input info...
The beauty of this is the freedom NOT to be locked in to any one manufacture.
Too bad their official Website was so sparse on any real info.

in No GYM #6: Gary Price on understanding Web Spam on Scobleizer
---- Recently, the amount of web spam has increased dramatically, leading to a degradation of search results
On what basis is this comment made, it appears that there is obviously less Spam getting high on the SERPs of Major Search Engines, than ever before in the history of Search Engines Web.
Google and MSN have have detailed interviews with their Engineers discussing their effective strategies and tactics for making their SERPs noticeably relevant.
- LINK POPULARITY
- CLICK POPULARITY
- DE-DUPLICATION
- INSTANT BANNING OF HIDDEN TEXT / JAVASCRIPT REDIRECTS
to name but a few ongoing strategies.
One one school of thought is that they are overdoing the ALGOs to the point that only large companies can now get respectable rankings for competative keyphrases.

in MSN Search geeks on Channel 9 on Scobleizer
MSN search relevancy HAS improved :-)
But the so-called "Neural Network or RankNet" is ver, very similar to the DirectHit (CLICK POPULARITY) Search Engine of the late 1990s -
here are some saved SERPs and Redirect Urls that you can examine and compare for yourselves ...
http://seoptimization.blog.com/
The obvious question is - if it failed for DirectHit, what is it that MSN search can do that is better?
BTW:
DirectHit's technology was purchased by Ask.com - are they using it?
