Yep. I think she sounds like a beatch in 2 languages, but the Brits ring my ears more polite.

i think it works better in "British" because the accent renders the woman less bitch-like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B2_LEoEb2A

Really? You think that upper-class British accent makes her sound less bitchy?

Andrew = Praying for you and your family and an end to this stupidity you are enduring. I will post on my blogs and send via email to my friends as well. Please keep us posted. They must have something to hide, and by the way it seems, they just went about the wrong way of trying to hide it.

@brandon, are you, like, 12? Come back when you've read more and listened less to the talk radio shows you parrot.

If they can't understand what you've said here, then I don't have any hope for any of them. That "Palin" around with Terrorists is akin to calling for his assassination. She knows her base. She knows how to incite them into a frenzy. I've read some of the conservative message boards. It's sickening.

in Steve Jobs: Citizen journalism didn’t fail on Mathew's comments
if you consider yourself a "citizen journalist," then you should check "facts" before "reporting," and you failed. If you consider yourself a blogger who writes about stuff you care about and who happened to re-tweet something someone else heard, then it's just another day in the life. Sorry, nice guy that you are, I don't look to you as my breaking news source. :-)

YAY!!!! Congratulations to you and the team!!! I'll be watching with interest as you explore tools for collaboration. I've done some collaborating on writing projects in Google Docs. Used to use documentum/e-room at Ketchum but i know there are web 2.0 options that don't cost an arm and a leg.

The news floating around the blogosphere is not Tech Nigga and the Verizon deal. The news is everything Feldman has said and done since. Every threat, every link bait, every lie, every chicken-shit move. Maybe give Hank Williams, Lynne D. Johnson, or Corvida a call and try to add a wee bit of insight on the topic of race from someone other than Loren Feldman.

Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins
Jeneane - I'm not in the market for insight from Hank, Corvida or Lynne. I saw more than my fair share reading their blog posts on the topic, and frankly it was their righteous indignation and willingness to condemn and insult folks' intelligence for not being offended (or of a minority race) that caused me ultimately to fear writing this piece.

Pretty much all of it, Bert. As I said, you prove with every interaction that you are not interested in the facts. That's why I won't engage you. If you were, I would.

The post she asked Frank to leave up?
Bert, if you want to bring public content of the emails, that's probaby a really bad idea. You forget--and continue to--give the context. You say Kathy contacted me, nice but she did NOT mention the death threats taking place on her blog until after comign AT (not to) me. Until After Frank offered to pull the noose post -- which I saw prior to joey's addition) and Kathy wanted it left up. That is the SAME post that kathy inspired by asking for attention over on Frank's blog, I see.
When Kathy did decide to tell me about the death threats, it was under the veil of lawyers (oh sorry you may not know tara emailed me saying kathy was planning a 'sexual harrassment suit) and silence -- not about truth.
but then, I don't expect you to care about the truth, about facts. you've demonstrate that you don't.

You know, if you were me, you might be upset too. I'm working on that part. Every. Day.
The not giving a shit #3 -- think context here -- is a "retrospect" comment. It is a me saying that I am not required to pay attention (or else pay with my online life) to the Internet, to what is going on with what I am NOT writing, on blogs I'm not acive on, during a month of my own trauma. I was tending to my own bus. And I got run over.
Okay. Thank you. Let the onslaught begin.

in PayPerPost: a Web 2.0 witch-hunt on Mathew's comments
Not just chops, I have MUSIC TOO! ;-)
Jason, I was blogging before at least two out of the three of the voices in that video debate on PPP. I was there when the blogworld was special. And I've watched the punditry of the pompous journaljism-obsessed "pros" do a lot more damage to what once made blogging special than pay per post has.
Rule number one about guys who run around to speak at conference after conference: It's expensive and they're not doing it as a philanthropic act. It seems pretty two-faced for jeff -- mr. sidebar-and-RSS-feed-made-of-ads guy -- to sit there on that panel and imply that mothers who write for PPP are being duped while he's building his own brand by harping on the company at a fucking (can I say fucking here?) conference he's using to make himself a more valuable advertising comodity! Give me a break.
If the real issue is around what PPP is doing to search -- which serves ads inside of the more tame advertising model Jeff makes money in -- then he should say so.
I'm not saying Murphy's clean or PPP is clean. It's just another way for bloggers to make some money in a medium where 'real' voices are in short supply.
And, on a less ranty note, thanks Matthew for the nod.

in Why point out they’re women? on Community Guy
I have to say I'm with Joanne, but I also "feel your quandry" about mentioning that women did x-y-z whenver something is done that happens to have been done by women.
If it were an all black tech team to have won the hackathon, would the headline have said so, or let the photo do the talking? ANd why would it matter? But then, it would. In subtle an non-subtle ways each of these scenarios say: Status Quo look out, we're coming for you.
Of course, although the woman team angle is only one angle of the story, it happens to be an important angle in an industry where boys (as opposed to "girls") get the majority of the attention and gigs.
Thanks for thinking thru some of this stuff with us. ;-)

Robert, anyone who disagrees with you is attacking you, but you never attack anyone. Your post on Thomas and Amanda wasn't an attack. You calling me arrogant, not attacking--just a response right? Right.

Every breath you take
And every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take
I'll be watching you
Every single day
And every word you say
Every game you play, every night you stay
I'll be watching you
Oh, can't you see
You belong to me?
How my poor heart aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace
I dream at night, I can only see your face
I look around, but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please,
Oh, can't you see
You belong to me?
How my poor heart aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

I'll be watching you
