in Missing Comments on DISQUS Blog and Forum
The issue continues for me also, Disqus when enabled doesn't show most of my comments. Re-importing was no help. It seems like that aspect of this thread is being glosses over (worked on behind the scenes I hope). Until then, I have disqus disabled =(

" the ability to mark a read article as unread would also be an improvement. "

Can't you just click "Keep unread" on the post as always? The option seems to still be there.

in We get it, green is the new black on Ecoble
Number 6 on your list is one that really stood out to me. It's so much more important to reuse and buy old and used goods. That's so much greener than buying newly produced "green" and organic goods. And on the other side, make sure to donate your used items too.

in Mygazines Offers a Look at the Future While Testing Copyright Law on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
It seems a bit misinformed to me to say that Time gives you that diversity. You'd get a lot more diversity from reading different magazines.

And you can read certain magazines in this way and not just pick certain articles. But still that article you might get in this fashion could be something you'd never read. What if the site would take you to just any random article, that would be a more diverse strategy than Time

We have the ability to have tunnel vision with traditional magazines as well, there are many niche publications

in Mygazines creator defends mag-sharing website - Press Gazette on Press Gazette
It's great for magazine advertisers. The online publications have all of the print ads looking beautiful. the potential for exposure is great. And if I like a magazine that I see on mygazines.com I would definitely consider subscribing. I also like how they have a subscribe button. The magazine publishers need to strike a deal to allow mygazines to continue. There are certainly ways that the publishers could benefit. Just as the music publishers could have found ways to make money by making a deal with Napster. Instead iTunes swooped in and Apple profited much more from the whole thing than any in the music industry

It must be a "hiding in plain" site kind of thing, I still can't seem to find it and I'm really trying. =)

Thanks Beverly, glad I could help. I never knew a lot of these terms before I was working in it all heavily. So I bet a ton of people don't know them either.

in 12 Social Websites for Artists & Designers | Arts | SKETCHEE on Sketchee Design and Illustration
Great tip about embedding myartspace galleries onto other pages. I didn't know you could do that! Definitely the key to these social networks is connecting with people you want to be connected to and being able to ignore the rest if you want.

I guess I should have mentioned in the post that one thing you don't want to do on these sites is become a spammer. I often get completely impersonal spam messages of "check out my art!" from other artists. If you want to make a connection, talk to someone about what they're doing and start a conversation. Then get to your art when you're talking to someone who might care what you say. The same goes for passing out business cards. No one needs your business card until you've made some kind of impact that makes them think of you.
