This is the same kind of rhetoric that GW Bush used to sell his own candidacy in 2000 and 2004, with everything being peachy and fixed once he's out of office (irony, no?); Iraq, the budget, the tax cuts, etc. Unfortunately, Sen. McCain is running on those same almost-promises, lending credibility to the allegations that he would largely continue the current policies that have had such disasterous effect during the George W Bush Presidency.

in McCain Enviro Ad Goes Viral on The Washington Independent
The Production Note critique is on-point outside of the term 'viral' isn't about just posting something to YouTube, it's about individuals (not promo/ad groups) downloading and distributing the materials without the aforementioned groups interfering.
I'm surprised to find a McCain-love article on The Washington Independent that doesn't also compare/contrast the article against his actual policy positions; like the oil-rigs pictured in the ad match McCain's stated policy to open all US costal waters to oil exploration and drilling; or that his tax credits are for payments from the taxpayers to the auto industry for cars the auto industry is already producing... because demand driven by $5/$6 a gallon gas isn't enough incentive to increase fuel-efficient car production; or that the $300 million 'incentive' for a super-efficient battery will likely be happening in cojunction with cuts in domestic science programs, which McCain has yet to commit to funding while his tax cuts increase the national debt; or that the rise of Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad happened in conjunction, and was supported in their domestic domains, by the rise of the very US international policies over which McCain stands in such close agreement with President Bush.

in No Country for Old (Black) Men on The Washington Independent
While I like the article a persistent misrepresentation of Senator Obama, across all his exhortations for improvements of ourselves and the country, is the need to improve ourselves. Not for Senator Obama to improve me, not for my pastor to improve me, but my own desire for self-improvement... with a little hope and encouragement from those around me. Somewhat like Kennedy's "what you can do for your country" speach. I just get bugged when journalists come from the point of view that any political candidate needs to do for us, while we passively sit on the couch, or they aren't sincere in what they're saying.
