Anyone can say what they want a service to be or become. Of course a service can't be everything it's users want it to be. That just opens up some space for competing services to offer different focuses.

I've also been bothered by some people using microblogging platforms as public chatrooms, but it's something a service doesn't have influence on. Some Twitter alternative might make this into a feature and build it's user base around it.

I'm currently using two microblogging services - one for "publishing" and one for "staying in touch".

It might be an easy and especially a non-invasive change Twitter could make to it's interface, to make it easier to read and post.

@TS: Kiberpipa does have it's charm, but also some disatvantages. We can still do some stuff there and some other stuff on Šmartinska, huh? ;)

Good points Jure, we'll make sure to include them into our product development cycle. Regarding misspelling correction, we did have a prototype in place a while ago, but never got around into implementing it. So thanks for kicking us and reminding us to do it now. I'll let you know when we do ;)
