OK, copyrights do not seem to be affected by this - what does patent protection provided that copyright protection does not?

Don Marti Patents give the holder the right to attack independent innovation. If I write a program that does the same thing as an earlier copyrighted program, without copying it, the copyright holder doesn't have an infringement case against me. If I implement a patented technique, even if I had never heard of the patent, I can get shut down for infringement.

You will be typing, every time you go to their home page. Except if you go "back" to it by repeatedly using your Back function in your mobile browser. When it seems shorter to reuse the Favorites Link, you will be typing in your Logon ID and your password, until they implement a way to remember who we are.

It is not really web browsing without typing at all. Every time you load their allegedly automatic home page you have to manually type in your logon ID and password. They can't seem to figure out who we are. Cookies would be one suggestion.
