in Tineye: Protecting Images, Preventing Orphans on Plagiarism Today
I've been using this since it opened up awhile back. I was invited to be a tester sorta'.

I have the FF plugin that allows you to right click an image and select Tineye search on the image you're looking up.

I've only found 1 photo shop image I made get stolen. The other person put a watermark image of their URL as if they were the one who made it.

I took a screen shot of the original Photoshop image open in Photoshop. For some reason they stopped e-mailing me and their post had dissipated.

I must have scared them into removing it. LOL :p

Jonathan Bailey Must have freaked them out pretty hard. It seems that text plagiarists almost expect to get caught in the era of Google, however, for image plagiarists, this is kind of a new thing.

The reactions will be most interesting...

Thank you for sharing your story!

Awesome video Johnathan! You've open my eyes as you probably have with others like me who absorb info from video than they do reading. Not that readings bad, but when you try to keep tabs on many blogs, the less reading the better. LOL

After watching this, I'm not going anyplace near Photobucket. Glad I'm with Flickr

Jonathan Bailey Glad you liked the video and that it was helpful. I'm going to try and do more of these in the future because, for some things, they are a great way to explain what is going on, far better than words. I am still a writer at heart but I don't mind toying with new tools.

And yes, I would definitely stay with Flickr...

I've been with THC for a couple of months now, I was lucky enough to get in on their Rudolph plan that was just $95 for life domain included.

I have to say that the speed alone is ubber impressive!

Support is there on the fly!

If there is a problem, it's fixed in a matter of minutes.

You're going to enjoy the ride!

So are you going to end up placing a new Disallow in your .htaccess for every paid post that you do? Sorry, I'm a bit confused on how this works.

I would highly recomment FLV Embed also. I've been using it for quite some time now and it's simple to use. Just upload your flv and jpg (If you want an image) to a directory and poing FLV embed to it.
Easy as pie! I can't make pie, but I heard it was easy to make. :p

This would be very effective if all the bloggers on the internet followed. But we all know that will never happen. It's a shame though, because I think Google needs a kick in the ass for thinking they can just do whatever they want.

Well I hope that PPP new Argus does away with Google. It's all about the traffic IMO, Google can go rot on the shelf as far as I'm concerned.

The big G got me too. Took my PR5 and replaced it with this moldy PR3. WTF?

I was making some great pocket money based on that PR5 too, so Google just screwed me out of my beer money.

AS soon as I get my Absence money from them I think I'll cut all ties wit them, hopefully others will follow.

in Is BlogRush A Waste Of Your Time? on Sage Blogger
I'm keeping mine on just because of what they expect from the service. I just wish they will get the stats working so I can actually see if it a waste of time or not.

It doesn't slow things down as far as page load goes, but as soon as it does, it goes to the trash can.

in Is Blogger on the Offensive Against Spam? on Plagiarism Today
I don't necessarily get blogspot spam, just a lot of comment spam lately.

As far as scraping goes, that's a thing in the past since I have it so Anti Leech mungs up the rss feed for any .info sites, and Digital Fingerprint hacks up the first few lines of my feeds and they really don't get any content.

I like the idea also. If it will help with a few bills. Bring on the ads!
It's better than the sploggers and comment spammers trying to make a free buck.

Colleen. Aren't you one of the top moneymakers on PPP?

in When Will Google Stand Up to Spam? on Plagiarism Today
HERE! HERE!
Couldn't have said it better myself!

IMO I don't think Google would loose money foro stepping up to the plate. Advertisers may end up paying more to get their ads on legitimate sites. If the scrapers are banned from AdSense, then that means less sites, so more of a demand for ad real estate for ads.

I also think, as you have pointed out, that they're just looking the other way because the scraping splogs are making Google money.

And using Google for searching is almost futile. Which is why I think Google made This. From what I've experienced the spam is not as bad.

This post has hit the nail on the head. You said everything that I have often thought to myself, but just never put it down in print.
Good job.

Excellent post.

Nice to see Hosts taking the topic a bit more seriously.
