in The Grim Reaper has visited Digg on The Get Smart Blog
I am so very upset by all of this. I was only using Greasemonkey because it was recommended by a fellow digger who, by the way is not banned. Anyway, I guess I will have to be the example. LOL

in Talking about cloud computing on Bladewatch
Glad to hear you are taking the leap into the cloud computing arena. You are right when you say that the cloud may be reaching the enterprise soon. At Joyent, we are seeing three patterns for enterprise adoption of cloud computing.
1. Approx. 65% of our large enterprise clients are Light Engineering Development Teams that jumped at the chance to quickly deploy new solutions on Joyent’s cloud.
2. Approx. 20% of our large enterprise clients are brought to us by top tier outsourced development shops.
3. CIOs and CTOs are turning to Joyent Cloud Computing because they realize that they have the same problem we do. They realize that they have multiple internal tenants who all require flexible malleable infrastructure.
I hope this helps expand upon what you were saying in terms of analytics and performance. If you are ever looking for an alternative to Mosso please don't hesitate to contact us.

I would also like to add Joyent's Accelerator to the list. Over 4,000 companies run PHP applications on Joyent. Their Accelerators come with everything you need pre-installed and ready to go. They offer open protocols, open source solutions. Use any Language, any DB. You can move your application and there are no vendor lock-ins. You should also know that the largest application running on Joyent does over 1 Billion page views a month and they are the official host of Ruby on Rails.

in Is Plurk an Alternative to Twitter? on Social Times
Nick~ You're not the only one who has spent an absurd amount of time on Plurk. I had so much fun last night on Plurk that I didn't go to bed till midnight and I am wayyyyy to old for that! I am really leaning toward liking Plurk more than Twitter for the fact that it has the emoticons, video, pics and most of all....cliques that I can group my friends into. Fabulous! Again, I find myself asking....."why didn't I think of this?"

in Weather: I want to be mostly wrong and still get paid on STL Social Media Guy
I'm not nearly as frustrated about the weather as I am about the fact that these guys make close to 300,000/yr and are constantly getting it wrong. I guess I should have been a meteorologist.

in Twitter Spam Spirals Out of Control on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
It is sad but I think you're right. A captcha just might be in order. I was out of town over the weekend and came home to 25 new followers. Most of which were totally spam. Just plain stinks.

in What do Avatars Mean to Us on Chris Brogan
I kind of feel like my red pumps have become my logo so to speak. I like being a mystery to most and not having my picture up and now that most of my friends are familiar with my shoes it seems like a mistake to change it. I like avatars that have colorful logos, good pics or something kind of funky. But unless it is your face and everyone knows what you look like, I don't think it should be changed all too often.

Wow! These are very unique. I kind of like the Digg Theme. Very creative. Who woulda thunk it? Thanks for listing these.

I love to do what I can to save the environment. We recycle plastics and paper but most recently we got rid of a car with a gas guzzling V-8 engine for a Toyota Camry hybrid. We love it so much that we are going to go ahead and get rid of another gas guzzling SUV for another Toyota Hybrid. I've got four kids that I haul around on a regular basis so this is my contribution to the environment.

in Uno Chicago Grill — an example of good customer service on STL Social Media Guy
That is good news. I have never eaten there but have heard great things. We ate a Bristols the other day and my hubby's meat was totally overdone. He complained thinking they would comp us a free desert or something but they comped his whole meal. Bonus.
