I have found the solution this question, however, if you could please let me know how I could write an introduction comment about this new disqus commenting system and have it display under the "Recent Comments" section I would appreciate it very much.

Hi Daniel, no it did not, I already had that code present in the footer.php file.

I just want my comments to be displayed underneath the Oil widget on my homepage. Any other ideas
as to why the Disqus comment form does not display when I try to write a new comment? I just see the standard Wordpress comment form?
