And just to think, these folks call themselves Christians, which means followers of Christ. I have a couple of questions for them:
1. When did Jesus go around stirring up people and inciting them to hate others and commit acts of
violence?
2. When did Jesus mix politics and religion?
3. When did he ever kill anyone or condone the killing of anyone?
4. When did he ever rejoice over the death of someone, even someone who didn't believe as he did?
5. When did he not care about the less fortunate?

I'd be interested in gettiing good honest answers to these questions(and others) from Bay, Pat, Epstein, and their minions.
I postulate that they would run from the only answer to these questions, which is NEVER. Their hypocrisy makes me sick to my stomach. Everytime I hear one of them spout lies and display their intolerance of anything/one who doesn't agree with them or believe as they do, it makes me sick.

Montel had a show earlier this week on which members of the LBGT community appeared. They talked about how some of these Christian organizations put pressure on them to change their sexual orientation, and how they make lots of $ pushing their sexual re-orientation programs and force them to marry members of the opposite sex, causing irreparable harm to themselves and their spouses since they end up divorced anyway. The church has no business interfering in the government. What amazes me is that many churches and their members are extremely selective about the parts of the Bible they use for purposes of discrimination. They forget all about the scriptures that inform Christians not to judge others. Hypocrites. They are always feeling and thinking that they know the mind of God when the Bible states that it is impossible for any human to know the mind of God.

Blatant racism on display. As a 50+ year old black female I can say that no matter what they would/could say if they were asked about it, the subliminal message is indelibly imbedded in the pictures/products. What makes it so offensive is that they have no idea that they are offending all Americans. These folks have absolutely no shame.

The purpose of this article about Sanford is NOT to excuse the misdeeds of those politicians you label as the "left," but to point out the fact that the Republican Party says one thing but does something entirely different which makes it look like it provides cover for their politicians when they really shouldn't if their principles mean anything to them. The Democratic Party doesn't bill itself as the keepers of America's morals, Christianity, or family values. The Republican Party does but does not hold its' politicians to these standards. If the party's principles are good enough to be used as standards for all Americans, why aren't they good enough for its' own members? This is do as I say, not as I do behavior, and it stinks like raw sewage, and damages the republican brand. If the Republican Party wants to enforce its' policies by enacting laws regarding morals, family values, Christianity, etc., it must first address these issues within its' own party. To do otherwise turns these talking points into just more hot air.

I think Palin is scared of something. The VF article may have hit too close to how unethical she really is. Imagine, she tried to lie about Todd's 7 year membership in the AIP and her association with the group. She has now been exposed as both a liar and unethical. Plus, it couldn't have helped that CelticDiva has already paid for those infamous emails. Too much digging and Sarah resigns her governorship. Must be something huge.

Time will tell. I'm following this closely (and I live in GA!). Whatever happens to Palin, she deserves it. In spades. I'll never forget how she traveled the country with McCain last year spewing hatred and divisiveness every-step-of-the-way. Maybe the chickens have come home to roost.

If it were left up to the far right sing of the Republican Party, America would become a theocracy, and the list of prohibited activities would never be long enough to satisfy them. You are correct. We do need to remain vigilant in finding and disarming these groups. We must not ever again allow them to suppress a report like they did with the DHS report back in April. They are currently working to defeat the hate crimes bill by claiming it will not allow religious persons/groups to speak out against homosexuality. They know that is not the intent of the bill, but have decided to use this meme to justify their opposition to it. Randall Terry is currently on a tour to spread this lie according to the web site RightWingWatch.

I read about this group of bozos last week. They are, as we African Americans can say, straight up hypocrites with a bigoted twist. Who in the heck made them judge, jury, and executioners of religion? These kinds of folks p!$$ me off with their holier than thou attitude. They're doing some of the most evil things one can imagine behind this attitude, but think that we are too stupid to notice. Yay, for the groups that are standing up against them. My only regret is that I live too far away to join them.

America is not in its' post-racial era. Whenever I go into a store, I'm watched b/c the clerks think I'm either going to steal something or not able to purchase what they are selling. I'm not at all surprised that this happened. It's fairly common to be suspect, just based on skin color/ethnicity. That's the only requirement needed.

There's only one point to the continued questioning of the legitimacy of America's first African American POTUS, and it is that he is African American. You can attempt to justify it any way you choose but this is the reason, plain and simple. I've been dealing with people like this all of my life. I taught their children, and even though I have a teaching certificate based on passing the required test, many of my parents still couldn't see past my race. I taught their children, the majority of whom passed the standards-based test in the subject, and went on to graduate from high school. African Americans, Jewish persons, Hispanics, LBGT persons, Arabs, etc. are generally suspect when dealing with people like the birthers. President Obama and the groups in the former sentence will never meet the standards of certain members of this society. They seek not the truth, but dissension in all of its forms. Arguing with them does no good because they believe what they believe because it gives them a sense of being superior to any other group/person, but it doesn't make them right. I take solace in knowing who and what I am, so what they say doesn't matter to me. I say to them, "have at it," because for all of their ranting, raving, and lawsuits, Barack Hussein Obama will remain the POTUS. The majority of Americans spoke with their votes on November 4, 2008, and that is that.

Obama is entirely too busy to spend time plotting against little pissants like Palin and her followers, and I, like most on the left who voted for Obama, are too busy working to get good health-care reform and cap and trade bills passed to pay attention to Palin, her lawyer, or her supporters. As far as they are concerned, I'm apathetic and couldn't care less about the different acts of the drama that is SP. They have a fixation with blaming everything on the president, but the thing that they don't seem to realize about Obama is that he just doesn't have time to play games with them nor does he care what they say about him. He's an adult.

"To promote the general welfare" -- found in the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. The Founding Fathers wanted to establish the goals/responsibilities of the national government to its' citizens. It hasn't changed since 1789.

Plus, there is that little section of Article I, Section 8, Clause 18, the necessary and proper clause that gives Congress the power "to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof."

So, in spite of parents giving their permission for their children to participate in the class project, the conservative protesters have decided that what they want nullifies the parents' decision?
This is, IMHO, a blatant example of a group of people defying the parents' decision. This makes the conservative position of individual responsibility look very much like hypocrisy-in-action.

We have a family of individuals on trial here in GA for the of death of an 8 year old. The adult son lived with his parents, and the entire family had been forced to move from one city to another because the son was a convicted child molester. The child's dad and grandmother had homes on the same street. One day when the child was headed to his grandmother's house, the adult son enticed him onto his property. The child was molested by the son, and when he said he was going to tell his dad, the son and his dad strangled the child to death while the wife looked on. In court the the prosecutor asked the dad why he helped kill the boy, and the dad said he just wanted to see what it was like. The wife was indicted for obstruction of justice and accessory to murder. It doesn't look good for any of them. These folks are white. People in all racial/ethnic groups commit atrocious acts of violence against children, and it has to stop. One can quote statistics, but it doesn't help any of these children that fall prey to violence perpetrated against them by adults.

It depends on the family. I am AA. My mom and dad were married for 52 years when my mom passed away in 1999. My five siblings and I all have the same parents. Dad had no other children with any other woman besides my mom. My mom was a housewife, my dad was a sheet metal mechanic at a local air force base. I never recall my parents ever having an argument/disagreement in front of us kids. There are still many stable AA families around. All of my AA friends are married, work hard, and are raising their children together. Sure, there are examples of AAs who have children out-of-wedlock, but I don't know them personally. As I said, it depends on the individual family.

What makes Congressman Grayson so effective is that he backs his positions with facts from reliable sources, and it's hard to argue with the facts. He used the Harvard study to validate his claim. He is independently wealthy, and accepted no corporate money when he was campaigning for a seat in the H of Rs. IMO, this makes him doubly independent. He's in debt to no one, but he feels he owes a debt to the people who sent him to Congress. Keep it up, Congressman Grayson! I plan to continue donating to your 2010 campaign.

President Obama didn't choose to award the NPP to himself. The NPP Committee consults no one when making the choice. You may disagree with the committee's choice, it's your right to do so, but the one thing that none of us could do was decide WHO received the award. Nothing anyone says will cause anything to change. President Barack Hussein Obama is the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize receipient. Case closed. Neither your nor my opinion has the power to change this.
