I agree, if you buy something, like a meal with a milk shake or a ticket to see an IMAX movie, and you only get part of what you ordered, you should only have to pay part of the bill.
You still have an issue with reading. Aziz never said anything to the cashier about twitter, he said something to the manager about twitter. Your point that yelling people shouldn't gain you a lot of empathy is still valid, although it loses some value coming from someone so fond of caps lock and calling me fuckwad.

I like your restaurant analogy. If you go to steak and shake and order a hamburger and shake, and they bring you the hamburger but never bother to come around to bring you the shake, do you owe them for both the hamburger and shake if you were starving and ate the hamburger?

A normal, reasonable person would get the waiter/waitress's attention and say something like "Excuse me, you forgot my shake."
BUT.....you folks apparently would YELL at the cashier and threaten them "I've got 25,000 twitter followers and I'm going to TELL THEM ALL YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME MY SHAKE!!!!!!!"
And of course...since you DIDN'T DRINK THE SHAKE you wouldn't have to pay for it like you would have to PAY for a movie that you watched in it's ENTIRETY.
So please, Mr/Mrs Fuckwad, get a workable analogy before you write. OK?

Certainly any rule has exceptions. I'm not even convinced it's a rule. The question at hand is: "what percentage of small/scrappy teams which had a dedicated biz guy were glad they did after the fact?" An extra person can be expensive in cash and time/attention...
