Hi Dave :) Andy Smith here (termie), developer for Jaiku/JaikuEngine, Ade wrote up a pretty extensive walkthrough, already linked by Colin Faulkingham below. We definitely want to streamline the set up process, I'd love for it to be as easy as `make && make deploy` although right now there are a couple support tools that would need to be written to support that, for example something to parse the app.yaml and help replace the app id or auto-create initial data.

I think we'll have it set up much more cleanly quite soon as there are a lot of people going through the process and running into all the rough spots.

hmm, it had been my understanding that twttr had been created by some of the employees of odeo in their spare time, the site was certainly around long before there was ever any announcement.
