But they don't allow batteries on board when flying out from J&K - i.e. from Ladakh or Srinagar. In hindsight it all turned out to be a sham.

Re: Ladakh Vacation – last days

Hi Marcia,

Thanks.

We stayed at Padma Ladakh. It is a family-run guest house and we had a great time. They have a website with upto-date contact info: http://www.padmaladakh.net/. The next SKU costs Rs. 43, 900 (2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB DD3 memory, 320 GB hard disk). Both have NVIDIA 9400M graphics, 5 USB ports and 1 FireWire 800 port and SuperDrive). Each lens has a minimum focussing distance and if you cross that the lens will be unable to focus on your subject. Try standing a little farther, zoom in as much as your camera's zoom will allow and click.

Re: Most people in India are born in August..

Thats interesting read and could well be the reason why the data is so skewed but I need to research if such a cut-off does exist for the domestic cricketing tournaments.

Here's another paper that explores the relationship between DOB and "luck" (PDF link).
http://www.psy.herts.ac.uk/wiseman/papers/Born%...

Re: Most people in India are born in August..

It could be - but I am not aware of a single cut off like this that works across the entire country. Someone did explore the connection between cricketers' DOB and their performance but I don't think it established a conclusive theory:

http://blogs.cricinfo.com/diffstrokes/archives/...

I am aware of another such study on DOBs influencing how lucky someone is/feels:
http://www.psy.herts.ac.uk/wiseman/papers/Born%...

Re: Notes from a Coorg visit in June

Glad some one noticed it - I think it got lost amidst the photos :)

Re: Two Worlds

I understood why many wouldn't want to work in such a company. But reading the post I got a feeling that you condemned all such companies. To me, every company has a place. What saddens me is that there are very few companies in India which look beyond services and into product development.

Re: Two Worlds

Software factory - the 'factory' bit is the one that makes me queasy.
