Hi Nic - I'd actually be a little affronted if a VC called me in to point out that I may need to cut costs during the economic meltdown and then follow that up with direction on how to do so. Surely, you'd hope to invest in a team that can see this and do it for themselves?

I agree on the silver lining, the radical arrangement of the deckchairs, and that the operators to succeed will be those that are most radical and active.

But, I am not sure any of the propositions mentioned are anything other than niche plays to create nice anecdotes for board meetings and presentations.

You can watch the iPlayer content over mobile if you can get yourself a beta version of the Skyfire browser. For the more patient, BBC is launching iPlayer over mobile next Wednesday - though initially just over WiFi. Talks with the network operators continue.....

My question to you at Oxford was about Net Promoter Scores (http://www.netpromoter.com/) which is detailed in the Ultimate Question. I am sure that if Blyk measured this it would further underline to all and sundry that you have something special brewing.

This is good evidence for taking a positive point of view of venture confidence, but as someone who has pitched to the VC community in Q1, I can tell of a distinct chill creeping into discussions from the beginning of March. I would be surprised to see such a robust Q2.
