I like the John 6 verse you quoted. For years I felt like my Christian life is so miserable because I could not go back the Egypt, but I have not arrived to Canaan either.

But then I rediscovered the Gospel all over again. What keep our faith is not looking at how well God's people does, but a constant look at the cross, at how much God loves His people. All else is disappointing - including myself.

I don't have any problem paying for it at all. NYC is expensive. And Keller didn't even get his church building yet.

The only problem I have is it make it much harder for me to give it to my friends and family.

Yesterday over breakfast my elderly mentor lean over and asked me, "Do you think that if you have someone like Tim Keller over and pastor your church, everything would be solved?"

"No, God had all sorts of tools for all sorts of work." He concluded.

I've found myself asking, "What would Keller do?" when preparing for sermon. In every passage, he will eventually get you to the Gospel. That's the easy part. The hard part is answering, "How the gospel would change me..."

In a few years we will get there, but in the mean time, he can track down Rev. Jason Kim in the Chicago area. He is with the Korean District of the CMA denomination. If you press me harder, I can cough up his email I had a two years ago.

That's it? Can you disclose some more on what you learned?

I've been working with this group for 15 years now. Basically we progressed from student ministry into a church plant within a church (co-location)...

Hey DJ, thanks to your Tim Keller page, I am now his fan! I have been taking in many of his wisdom from your mp3 links. Now, unless for Rick Warren, I think I will wait til the day you post him under "wisdom" section [grin]

I think what we need are something like mychurch.org with a xianz interface. The problem I see is that we need some cyber-community based on real life f2f for authentication, but then it should be able to federated to other cyber-community in proximity (of geographic, demographic, or denominationgraphic - God forbid!)

However, we must also maintain a myspace presence because that's where we interface with the world. The network of real life friends also keep other church kids accountable in cyberspace as well...

That's pretty cool - now if only it would be open-sourced so that I can intergrate it into our church website...

Bummer - I know what kind of frustration you are under - I got one of those lately too (not the exact one). The funny thing is 3 weeks after the machine got infected, MS Spyware Removal or McAfee would start to pick up the signature...

By the way, I am conssider moving to WordPress, but your bug report on the broken Xanga cross-posting worried me. May be I should stick with an older version like 1.5 or something...

Unless you do dedicated hosting, speed indicators will not be helpful because it all depends on how many other customers your web host provider can jam you in with... If you got all newbies, then no speed hit there - but if you get slashdotted often, then you are toasted.

I and my next door cube neighbor split a dedicated host at 1 and 1 hosting for $25 a month and I hosted 13 sites of my churches and my other projects on it. But of course, I would pay more for something like the FlashBack feature you talked about there.

Hhm, why would anyone want to run XP on Mac? I thought their OSX was supposed to be a much better OS...

but aren't you supposed to broadcast your commercials instead of narrrowcast them? I thought the purpose was "spread the word" and not "count the respond"....
