Seriously dude, Dells are not that great. You should know better. A slick package doesn't fix the OS.

in Biblical Grounds For Divorce? on Caffeinated Thoughts
The problem with this line of thought, particularly regarding re-marriage, is it is a legalistic view and does not account for God's grace. I'm not saying the line of thinking is wrong per se, but if mistakes are made, they are already forgiven for a believer and can be forgiven for an unbeliever who is willing to accept Christ and his gift.

By living with a mistake, i.e. never remarrying after divorce, than you have said God cannot forgive that sin and that his Grace does not extend to that sin.

Anyone who gets divorced discovers it's not wonderful. It doesn't usually fix the "problem" though in the case of abuse, it probably helps. Sinning brings forth consequences, but it does not erase God's grace from our lives.

Excellent post Todd. People should really consider these basics. And remember, this is about relationships. Don't hide behind the icon, treat people like they are right in front of you - i.e. be polite, even if you disagree with them.

tojosan So true Dan. Folks come to Twitter and social networking for various reasons but in the end, it's about the relationships. Thank you.

in Deregulatory Bailout on OpenMarket.org
It seems like an analysis could show how some regulations could be consolidated and simplified. Clearly safety is a key issue, but I bet many of the regulations contradict each other.

Todd, that is awesome! I appreciate your service to the nation. My Dad was a Gunner's Mate in the Navy. My last Active Duty boss was a Navy Captain, he and I had a great relationship. He is responsible for me being in the Reserve because he didn't want the military to "lose" me. I'm grateful to him for his vision and leadership. I'm grateful to you for your service.

in Writing for Good: Email Our Military on PurpleCar
I am a reservist in the Air Force. When I was deployed 2 years ago to Kuwait and Iraq, I remember receiving mail from somebody I didn't know. In fact, I received a few things in the mail. It literally brought tears to my eyes because it said to me that someone back home was thinking about me. I saved the items and have them to this day.

I would say that if you're writing to a servicemember, keep it cheery and supportive. And if you send them something in the summer, make sure it's not meltable because it's hot over there!

in 6 Cities That Were Caught Shortening Yellow Light Times For Profit on National Motorists Association Blog
Colorado Springs has these cameras setup, but I understand "The City’s cameras do no record video and are not used by police for red light or speed enforcement," according to the city's website. I'm sure folks think they snap photos.

I'm glad they don't use them for generating tax revenue, but I wonder if there isn't inherent danger in that they could cause people to panic stop in order to avoid a ticket.

in What Modu Might Mean for Us on Chris Brogan
Chris,

This does look pretty interesting. I imagine some of these features will be seen in the iPhone when the SDK goes public and developers can take advantage of the geo-locator, etc...
