When I have 10 minutes, I usually pop in a frozen dinner LOL i don't have to worry about cooking for anybody else (except maybe my parents at home, but then I know ahead of time to prepare).

We have a birthday party for Jesus every year on Christmas morning. We make a cake the night before, and in the morning we put candles on it and sing happy birthday to Jesus. It helps the kids remember why we celebrate Christmas at all and that when we open presents it is because God gave us the greatest gift of all on Christmas day---Jesus.

Hi Sara, I'm not sure you remember me, but I surely remember listening to your lovely voice several years ago when I attended St. Stephen's. I came upon your blog a few days ago, and I love reading it. Your strength is an inspiration.

My burden...Well, there are so many! And they all seem so huge. I have the hurdle of trying to finish school while planning a wedding and battling depression. The weight of everything that has to get done (especially in the next two months) is crushing. Hopefully breaking it up will help!

I installed the plugin and it appears that users are directed to the dashboard and can even post in a blog once they are registered. How do I solve this? Thanks. :)

This country is not for me either! I have been living here for almost five years now. I am an astronomer working at the european southern observatory. Tonight is my last observing night and in May I am returning to Europe!

When I first came to Chile I was hoping to experience the real south america, and was somehow disappointed when I realised that Chile is not so different from some of the european countries. The huge gap between rich and poor people really bother me. Even at work, I find it weird that there are people cleaning everywhere all the time (even my coffee mug!), opening doors for me, etc. It is sad to see how some of these people are treated. I also would not like to have my children raised here.

I am moving to Ireland in May, to join my fiance and we are going to get married in August. Really big changes in my life! Can't wait!! Hope you get to change your life too... in my country we say "para e' morrer" which means to stop is to die.

I don't know why you think both consolidation methods should be studied. If they accidentally leave an old question in, I'm sure they'll throw it out while grading. I really don't think the AICPA would expect people to know both. Doesn't make much sense.

Glad to see I'm not the only one surprised about Organic Style ending its publication. I have been a subscriber since its first magazine was published 4 years ago. I was thrilled to see the organic content and eventhough it may have been a bit fluffy at times, it brought a general eco-conscious message to the every day person. My subscription ended in November and I never recieved a renewal notice...now I know why. Organic Style you will be missed!

I currently use Google Reader since I already use Gmail, Google Base, google analytics and so on. May as well keep it in the family!

I check several times a day for new updates and delete the posts I’m not interested in. I find new blogs to follow from comments on the blogs I already follow. For instance, I found you on Problogger.

Hi!

Would you know how to creat a .lsp file where we can start getting a running list of all the users actions. This LISP code will grab the users LOGIN name, date and time then write this information into a Excel CSV file each time a user opens a drawing. ...I do not know how to create a .lisp program..Also, once I get it running, where and how would I open the .csv file...?

That reminds me of our microwave at work - when Keith tried to re-heat a mini-muffin. He put it in for only 10-15 seconds and it almost caught on fire and came out looking quite similar to your burrito yet many lunches remain cold after microwaving them for 3 minutes....microwaves have minds of their own.

Hi! I'm Carla. Karen Heslop's daughter-in-law. My daughter was born March 2006 and we are working on 6 months of potty training. I tried all the tricks and gimmicks. When we started I had a basket of wrapped dollar store prizes and it really didn't work. I've decided that there are certain things you can't MAKE your child do.....eat, sleep (she is skipping a nap today grrrr...), and potty. She is now consistently going during the day--on her own terms. If I ask she always says No, but when she initiates she sits down and goes immediately. She still wears pull-ups for nap and at night. She only poops in the pull-ups and she is almost always wet when she wakes up. Seriously, this is the progress I've made in 6 months. At least I'm not having accidents anymore. I was one of those Mom who thought I was going to do it in a week. My advice is to just back off, put pull ups on him and let him initiate. I was only driving myself crazy before I did that! I hear you though, not wanting 3 in diapers. Hang in there!

Hi, I found your blog through a link on Angie's site, Bring the Rain. My kids and I have a chronic disease called Mastocytosis. It is seems to be autoimmune in nature, except it is so rare that there is not much research on it. It causes bone lesions, and the destruction of joints and discs, severe GI issues, and mental changes as it affects the brain at times.

You explained how I feel completely. It is so refreshing to read about another person who is struggling but chooses to find joy in the midst of thier new normal.

I love your designs and your dog is soooo cute--my daughter would love her! (She is 6).

Anyway, I will definitely be reading faithfully, I am so glad I found your blog!

We open one present on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning. Sometimes the kids have lots of Christmas presents from extended family under our tree early so we usually let them open two or three if this is the case. The big ones are always saved for Christmas morning, but Santa's name only goes on one. The best ones are from grandparents or us, because in all honesty we want the thanks for the amazing gifts!

We did not have to compromise--it wasnt ever a conversation even. His family and mine have always done the same thing.

They don't care about what happens to it after it's birthed? They don't care that there's a hgher chance of kid being abused/neglected (or worse) because the parent didn't want it? They don't care as long as some one didn't kill a few cells probably smaller than what I pass while Aunt Flo is here to visit every month. What a bunch of fucking hypocrites.

This is happening to my grandmother. She's in her 80's.

Just think, it's even more gross when you use the shower at grandma's house and see the little plastic diaphram-looking thing the doctor gave her to keep her bladder up. That's more than I wanted to see.

I know exactly what you mean. This happened to me a few months ago at Sprawl-Mart. I didn't say anything to the moo, but after she left and I got up to the cashier, the cashier says to me, "wasn't that cute?" I told her, "no, not when it's holding up a line of people." Oh boy did the cashier give me a nasty look. She was a total bitch to me the whole transaction. Didn't even get a 'have a nice day' at the end. BTW, when I got in line there was only 3 or 4 registers open with about 4-5 people each. So much for keeping the customers moving through.

You know we're feeling/dealing with practically the same thing over here...and you're right; it does suck. Bigtime! I'm praying for you guys--financially, emotionally, all of it--for God to provide what you need to give sweet Nathan a wonderful bday party, and what you need to purchase the new machine, etc.--all of it.

Have you ever heard "I Will Praise You in this Storm" by Casting Crowns? It's so amazing, and the words so fitting. It comforts me but I get drenched when I listen to it too--with my own tears of course.

I'm in tears reading this--it sounded like you described my life! I used to be a 4th grade teacher at one of our local public schools before becoming a mom. I have been a stay at home mom ever since because both our kids have a chronic disease and couldn't be in childcare situations. Last year, when Gavin turned 3, and Chelsea was 6, I tried to teach part time--only two days a week--while Gavin stayed at my house with a respite care nurse one week, and my mom the other week--they flip-flopped. Gavin was hospitalized two times for 3 weeks each, and had a bunch of shorter hospitalizations throughout the year. That was when his doctors feared that he had a tumor, so we were dealing with the stress of that. Then our respite care nurse quit. My mom was getting too tired to come (she is 74). My body succombed to the stress by getting inflammed joints, and severe fatigue--and I had to quit. It was horrible, and I was so sad because I love teaching so much. While I love it so much, it wasn't worth what I had to sacrafice in order to do that. The catch 22 is that now we are in the pretty much in the same place as you financially--we feel like we're in the middle of a stormy ocean holding on to a rope that hangs from the sky. The waves toss us about back and forth and sometimes we almost lose our grip. It's so scary and hard. But I have to trust that the Lord will always give us the strength to hold on to that rope. I often fear what he'll ask us to get rid of, but have to trust that He has what's best for us in His plans for our life, even when it doesn't seem like the best at the moment.

Now that I wrote a book in your comment section (lol!), i'll go. But know that I am praying for you, and if you ever want to chat, I'm here and I get it.

Aside from teething, do you think he might have acid reflux? The hoarse voice is a common symptom of acid coming up to the throat. Or it could be hoarse from all the crying, but reflux is so common in infancy, I thought I would throw it out there. Hope he feels better soon!

God bless your difficult road, Lord knows how challenging it is. I can relate on so many levels even though our kids' diseases are different. It's frustrating when you have to play unpaid nurse all day who barely sees her hubby since he has to work all the time in order to only earn half of what we really need to live in a rental house--we live it too, and it bites. We've tried getting help from the state and federal programs and there is some loop hole that keeps us from qualifying every time. We spend half our rent cost each month on prescription copays--it really is ridiculous that there isn't something out there to help families with a chronically ill child.

I'll be praying for you...I guess my comment turned into a rant within a rant-- lol--just saying I know how you feel. Hoping that God lifts your spirits today.

Your little guy is sooooo cute--and the puking is so hard to deal with on top of everything else! Both my kids were/are pukers but for a different reason. My heart sunk when I saw you had to miss church today--we miss a lot too because of Gavin. When your child is always sick, it dominates your entire life. And btw, I dont know you guys well enough to guess a paint color, but I'm thinking green or orange (or both) only because it is so striking on your button. Can't wait to see it, I love decorating playrooms!
