Ok, this is a tough call. I grew up on Star Trek and still have an affection for it. But I also love the modern Dr Who. Great idea for a post. I agree with Kate though, all the Dr Whos are better looking than William Shatner.

Well, I've not done too badly on this list, but must check for that sample file. I agree that setting up a professional blog means paying for hosting, but not all 1-click installs are bad. Bluehost keeps their install pretty up to date, especially if you go through SimpleScripts rather than the Cpanel install.

Good post, Bob. I agree with Natasha about having an eponymous domain name, although my most successful blog doesn't. If there's ever a time when people don't want to get paid to write online, then I may be in trouble.

@James. One of the things you do is include both your name and site name in comments. That means that people get a double whammy in getting to know you. And yes, your rebranding was genius. No one can forget that name.

@ Carrie: Writing for free is for promotion. If clients want a sample, I sometimes say that it will be published on my blog. I can always remove it if they want to pay for it. :)
