It means I want to be able to make it style as per a normal Wordpress blog, but with merged comments from Disqus and FriendFeed... but not with javascript injection.

Am I talking your language here?? I was fascinated with it for a while there, but I can't take it seriously any more. I have this huge blog post I've mostly compelted, where I liken it to a game. The post is long as, and to be honest I can't be bothered completing it.

Digg to me is such a waste of time. I mean, the traffic is huge, IF you don't get buried -- and I usually do -- and the kinds of people who come by leave again as fast as they got there.

I'd rather be focussed on compelling content and relationships with the ProBloggers, Smashing Magazines and LifeHackers of this world, where at least the traffic is "qualified" and interested.

I really don't care much any more what Kevin Rose does...

He's never done anything for me. I mean, where's the marketing category in Digg? He's never bothered to give our entire industry one! All that other social networking crap about adding friends and endless twittering is useless... agreed.

So if you blog, if you twitter, if you Facebook... add value; help people achieve their goals.

Not conversations for conversation's sake... but conversations in the service of a win-win value exchange.

Re: Search Engines for Search Marketing Blogs

While I am delighted with a little bit of incoming traffic and "linkbait" from SEM Search, I am just as keen for the most mature, intelligent solution to the challenge of searching and cataloguing news in our "vertical".

And I think, personally, that that would ideally involve a new branch of the "memorandum" family called marketingmeme.com. I have purchased that domain but would be delighted to hand it over to Gabe Rivera (the genius behind techmeme.com) if he wants to run with it.

In an effort to convince him of the need for it, I'm asking SEO/SEM/PR people to please make some "noise" in the comments of this post, which I'll make sure he sees!

Thanks heaps!

- Alister

Re: 41 Internet Marketing Tactics – Take the Poll

Hmm...

If I chose 3 of the top 4 ranked results it might mean I'm going the right thing, or it may have revealed that I'm doing the wrong think, like everyone else!!

I'm just saying that we may all share the lowest common denominator, for argument's sake!

Perhaps the real "gold" is somewhere down in the long tail where most of us are not looking :)

-Alister
