What do you think of Nichols and Stich's "mindreading?" I'm not sure if they were entirely fair to Dennett's rationality theory, but then again Dennett is (intentionally?) vague on a lot of the underlying aspects. That said, I still hold that the "Linda the feminist bank teller" experiment is more of an example of psychological trickery and agent ignorance than a refutation of Dennett's "hard line." But I will give N&S a lot more credit than those who say they just dumped yet another boxology on us.

you just said that bush gets out of jail free for invading iraq because of something a senator said. invading a country on the one hand, words on the other. people fighting and dying, people speaking and thinking. am i wrong? blame the media all you want for others' biases, it doesn't reduce yours. instead of accepting the fact that both parties cause problems, you are no better than you purport the media to be by simply slamming the democrats right back in response to some criticism.

in I Am Legend Alternative Ending on /Film
I think this ending is better. A lot of people say this alternative ending is the "happy ending" of the two but I disagree. The other one ends with this uplifting hope of humanity in that they've found the cure, and there really is a collony to the north where humanity lives on.
In this alternative ending, they are driving out of the city (which shows character development on Neville's part because he finally lets go of the city. They don't have any idea if there really is a colony of people to the north, so I think it ends in a much better note that provokes further thought into the movie.
People say "well he has to DIE to become a legend!" Why does someone need to die before becoming a legend? He is possibly one of the last humans alive, is that not enough? What about the Legend of Zelda? Hah! By using a grenade and blowing up, I was actually laughing my ass off in the theatre. It's like they tried to make another epic hero movie like 300, Gladiator, or The Matrix Revolution.
