I'm a little hesitant too and I've been in church ALL my life. But it's been mostly straight-laced fundamentalist Baptist churches. Churches in which I spent many, many years thinking that I had a relationship with God. Turns out I didn't and now I do.

That's the South for you. No beer on Sunday and we still have a few "dry" counties out there.

Hey, I read that book!

It reminds me that we are all dirty, ragged children that God has chosen to love and pursue. Your blog name did jump out at me because of Brennan Manning's book. Over the course of last summer, I was finally, after 43 years figuring out what it meant to have a real relationship with God.
