I think for the good of the Democratic party in NY, it makes sense to appoint someone from upstate/Western NY, exp. since things are so close in the NY state senate. But Cuomo is probably the favorite, especially since he would likely be the winner in a contested primary.

Would be interesting to see the reshuffling happen if an elected official is tapped. I guess a lot of people think Paterson wants to appoint someone from upstate, but I think it will more likely be someone from NYC area. You?

Would be shocked if it were RFK Jr. Cuomo is probably most likely. But Caroyn Maloney wouldn't surprise me too much. Though I realized the other day that Chelsea probably lives in the 14th CD, so I would not be entirely shocked if she tried to run for Maloney's seat if that were to happen (esp. since hedge funds aren't doing too well these days). Though Jonathan Bing would probably win the seat in a fairish primary.

Who will be appointed if Hillary becomes SoS? I've been hearing RFK jr. alot with Carolyn Maloney as the darkhorse.

I'm rooting for the change, I think it is time for a shakeup, and I think that Congressman Towns would do a good job as chairman of the Oversight committee.
