the question what is the benefits to end user?

I'm sorry - I just find it hard to believe in that growth - who in thier right mind would give up the large tv or the computer or laptop 15 to 21 inch screen to watch a screen the size of three fingers.
I know they aren't going to watch the superbowl or the olympics on it??

It's probably more teens, tweens,and kids that will enjoy this and then get back to thier tv when they get home....

I think AOL will hangout a bit more if the MSN - Yahoo deal goes thru. The factor being they have the "competition" side or need. The same argument Scared Google is throwing around while it owns more than have the search on the net.

of late "branding' has been a key word... in online business respect. Zen mentioned respect and tearing site apart as concern...

How will they deal with branding .... Yahoo online is a better brand name than MSN ... so do they blend or drop a name that has cost billionds to build brand recognition???????

money dictates and while CPA may help the marketer the search engines [ Google] lose money and i don't think they will allow that.

I've always known something was "fishy' - How can you have a story that is digged 20 minutes ago - have 500 diggs and an interesting story that is 3 days old only have 1 or 2 diggs?

As far as editors playing thier part in the scheem - I had a friend who gave up on Digg. he would post [ digg] a story and get no results, only to find a similar or same story digged by someone else an have great results. He even went as far as to check the similarity of how the story was written - and with none to little difference - his diggs never got more than 3 diggs. Interesting......????

I personally like it and prefer it over the others.

Sounds nice but Microsoft will change it and the deal with cash back, sounds old. That can change once MS over pays for it and needs to make money from it.Remember Ebay - made for it's users and you see how fees just keep popping up....

Consider Google, how much did they pay for youtube... now thier trying everything to get a return on that investment.
Facebook will be faced with the same problem. It will have to produce to give MSN a return, and the question will be how and will it fall well with it's type of users????

lets pretend we have newbie readers and actually explian why it benefit or hurt the webmasters if DMOZ is removed from Google. I personally never liked the DMOZ system and yes I submitted some sites [ years ago] i never stop to think if they ever were approved or not...

nothing online is free becuase it always has a tie in. Think of google, every free service provides google with revenue or opportunity to make revenue. Youtube, free video - isn't that why thier trying to monetize the videos.....
Free, yea, but they will get something. After all, they are here to make money not give it away.

I see the drive, intent, and action - but I want to see the synergy.... Purchasing to compete sounds nice, but execution is where it all counts.

Oh, I love rumors... but the problem is that digg is not the threat, google is. And until they do something about truely challenging google -....it's all a waste...

No the question should be, why doesn't america have such rules... we complian about the poparatziiiiis .... yet it's ok for google to drive down the street with an automatic camara catching pictures of people and publicly displaying them without consent... hey, if they catch you with your pants down... i bet you wouldn't want that online....

Sounds like the bait and switch game to me.... Dangle the free carrot get them in the door, converting landing pages to this mobile formate and then - the short time frame is gone and like it or not, all the effort spent obligates most to continue with service....
I expect nothing less from this gorilla - gorilla tactic... if beat up opponents and side track clients...

I hear Google make a big rip about webmasters and paid links... but google is basically doing the same thing. And yes people do get confused with the sponsored links - I know several people who don't distinguish the difference between organic and the lightly colored yellow box with a small print word all the way on the other side. i am sure that the reason we had hackers on the sponsored links a while back is becuase people thought and probably still think that it's part of the organic search. And I mean in America.......

Rumors, but now Google will hear of it and think about it. I certianly hope google couffers dries up becuase i don't want a google world.

is any one concerned that it's becoming a society of "big brother" controls you. In the past people were afriad that big brother [ be it government or any larg entity] was watching and controling everything. Now it seems people want a large entity in control.
oh, the guise of it's helpful is nice but let me see - can be tracked, controlled, google or anyone can freezy an account for any reason and your dead in the water. look at paypal and ebay - one glitch and the world freaks but hey, lets hand over the keys to our very existence. gee - i guess those futuristic movies were right all along.

I don't know, as suspiciouse as it looks, why would they not want to be so easily found. besides, they should know by now that the more suspiciouse it looks - the more people want to look.

This is a promising sign that MSN/Live is really beginning to take search seriously- I think, a step in the right direction.

I still have a difficult time using Facebook - may be I'm used to myspace and the other social sites. But I like what has been presented here.

Your only helping to fuel the rumors - but I hope they do buy Yahoo.

I don't like it's enough - sound remenicent of stuff google does? What about opening service to public so advertisers have more oppt. more eyes. I hate google but atleast if i wanted to jion they would let me in.
