Yeah... Calendars are dead :) . I don't really find a use for them.

Linking on the other hand I still use it... and the links are from people I know, some of them are even good friends of mine, but aren't actually things that I'm interested in (I'm interested in what I chose to write on the blog) .

In a way Revers Chronological Layouts are just a way to make people stay longer on the site, and might even filter out just the best posts... although that would clearly push to the bottom of the sac more complex technical posts.

In the end blogging for me (I blog for the incredibly long time of 3 months) is about learning to express my ideas in digital format and better communicate them. It's all about PR actually :)

I'm not really reaching my clients through my blog ( most of them are from referrals ). What I meant by PR is learning to be a better communicator :) , and not as an advertising tool (not sure how to express this better... I've finished a technical school :-) )

The people that block ads won't click on any so I find this pointless. You'll just annoy them.

True... that would be a honest request towards the user. Most understand that you need ads on the site to keep up the good work.

I personally don't like forcing the user to take more actions then needed to access the content unless I have a really good reason for it.

No having any hover state over their link is intriguing... It's not good or bad, just different! Also there will always be guys who think they know better. As Daniel H said... it doesn't matter!

I think they decided to do so because there are just so many links on that home page that when moving your mouse every thing will just pop and that can be tiresome. Since this is just a hunch I would really like to know their reason behind it!
